Student answer (Band 5.5)
Television encourages violent behaviour as it portrays and promote fictional violence. There is an ongoing debate about whether violence is an enjoyable entertainment. While some individuals think that watching violence inspires people for voilent behaviour. However, I believe that watching violence cannot affect too much on every individual, exessive watching of violence activities can lead to agressive behaviour.
On the one hand, people watch action movies for the entertainment and suspence in the end which also displays violence. As a result, it shows that people watch it with interests and a hobby. Parents and teachers also should be aware of the children watching it for a limited time of period. To quote an example, if an individual is watching a movie or a web series they pay all their attention on it. They have the curiosity to watch it till the end without any impact on their behaviour.
On the other hand, repeatedly watching violence on the television could influence children and teenagers. Parents should be strict with them which will result in putting parental age restrictions on some shows. To give an example, extreme watching could result in agressive behaviour and people can get influenced from the powerful characters shown, which leads to affect the mental health of children and parents.
In Conclusion, the government should take strict measures to ban such content and display moderate violence on television which will not effect the behaviour of anyone. Moreover, they can also spread awareness among people by giving seminars and informative workshops among the companies or societies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a qualified opinion: fictional violence may not affect everyone, but excessive exposure can encourage aggression. The two body paragraphs also give relevant points about entertainment and the possible influence on young viewers. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The first example says viewers focus on a film “without any impact on their behaviour,” but this is asserted rather than explained or supported. The opposing view is also stated broadly, with little detail about how repeated viewing might shape behaviour. Your conclusion introduces government bans and awareness workshops, but these proposals are not developed from the discussion. Explain each side more fully and make your position consistent and explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the contrast, and the reader can generally follow the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the point about parents and teachers in the first body paragraph does not connect smoothly to the claim that viewers watch without behavioural effects. Some linking is also mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “To quote an example” and “To give an example.” The opening uses “While” followed by “However,” creating an awkward relationship between ideas. Build each paragraph around one clear claim, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence, using referencing and transitions more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “fictional violence,” “parental age restrictions,” “aggressive behaviour,” and “mental health.” This gives the response enough language to communicate its general subject. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision: “voilent,” “exessive,” “agresssive,” and “effect” in “will not effect the behaviour.” Phrases such as “violence activities,” “watch it with interests and a hobby,” and “influenced from” are also unnatural or unclear. Aim for accurate collocations and vary repeated words such as “watching” and “violence.” Proofreading spelling and choosing more precise expressions would make your ideas easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “if an individual is watching a movie or a web series” and a relative clause in “characters shown.” However, complex constructions are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “While some individuals think that watching violence inspires people for…” is an incomplete clause, while “which leads to affect the mental health” has an incorrect clause pattern. There are also agreement and verb-form problems in “Television…portrays and promote” and “the government should take…which will not effect.” Practise complete clause structures, subject–verb agreement, and verb patterns after “lead,” “inspire,” and “result.”
