Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's fast-paced world, numerous individuals believe that fighting scenes and violence displayed on television is innocuous entertainment, while other often argue that these activities can encourages people to violent behaviour. Although , these kinds of content is only for entertainment purpose , i believe that we should adopt a balanced approach because these types of scenes would presents negative effects on young generation.

People often argued that fictional characters and violence are harmless and only for entertainment purposes. Movies and dramas usually display such kinds of story and script that might be not match with real world situations. Everyone who is watching the television could easily understand that , these kinds of activities are only for entertainment . Makers always try entertain the audience through fictional fighting scenes , because they know that in this fast-paced world particularly everyone watch the television to relax themselves. For instance, Science fiction and marvel movies are usually produce for entertain the audience , individuals often know that they are just made-up characters and violence also innocuous for the people. Therefore, fictional violence is harmless because it does not mean the person who is watching such content will try to do same things in real life.

However, numerous individuals who argue that they could encourages violent behaviour. Firstly, it present bad effect on children and teenagers who often watch such kinds of movies and content more then adults . Because , their minds are still in growth stage and they would try to become those kinds of persons and do the same things that they usually watch in television . Some adults who often watch violence movies would try to deal with real life situations in a way they watch in movies . For instance, teenagers who often watch violence content in real world if they had argument with someone they would try to do same things that they were watched in television , instead of talk and calm themselves. Similarly, in Lahore a person who robe the bank because he was inspired from a Netflix show and do the same activity in a way the fictional characters did. Therefore, fictional violence would encourages individuals of violent behaviour in real world situations.

In my perspective, these activities present negative effects on children as well as adults , governments and authorities should adopt a balanced approach through censorship of the content as well as set rule and regulations for teenagers such as which 18+ age should be compulsory to watch these kinds of content.

In conclusion, although activities that displayed on television are only for entertainment purposes but such kinds of violence could present notable negative effects on individuals. However, i believe that considerable rules and regulations could be a better approach to address this obstacle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both views and give a clear personal position: fictional violence can be entertaining, but you believe it may negatively affect viewers, especially young people. The examples of science-fiction films and the teenager responding aggressively after an argument help explain the two sides. The Lahore bank-robbery example also supports your concern, although it is presented as a specific fact without explanation or evidence, so its relevance is less convincing. Your conclusion restates your view and proposes censorship and age restrictions. To strengthen the response further, develop the harmless-entertainment argument beyond viewers recognising that characters are fictional, and explain more precisely how your proposed controls would balance entertainment with protection.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the discussion easy to follow, and signposts such as “However,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” show the intended relationships between ideas. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. The sentence beginning “Because, their minds…” is a fragment, and the transition from the general claim about adult viewers to the teenager example is not fully clear. Repeated use of “Therefore” also makes the linking somewhat mechanical. For stronger progression, connect each example directly to the claim it supports and vary the way you signal cause, contrast, and consequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “fictional characters,” “violent behaviour,” “censorship,” and “age restrictions,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “balanced approach.” However, the range is uneven, with repeated wording such as “these kinds of,” “individuals,” and “entertainment purposes.” Several choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “present bad effect,” “in growth stage,” and “deal with real life situations in a way they watch in movies.” These do not prevent the main ideas from being understood, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Aim to use a wider set of accurate topic phrases, and check whether verbs and nouns combine naturally before using less familiar expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “although,” and “who,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. Examples include “violence displayed on television is” where the subject and verb do not agree, “these activities can encourages,” and “fictional violence would encourages.” There are also sentence-boundary and punctuation problems, such as the fragment “Because, their minds are still in growth stage,” and the comma-heavy opening. Articles and verb forms are also sometimes missing or inaccurate. Work on making each sentence complete, checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and punctuating subordinate clauses carefully; this will make your complex ideas clearer.
