Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people thought that the fictional violence portrayed on T.V is not harmful entertainment while, some disagree and believe that it encourages violent behavior. In my opinion, although victional movies can entertainment the adults, excessive exposure to it may negatively influence children and young people.
On the one hand, many people consider fictional violence harmless because they understand that television series is not real and it totally based on fictional. Action films, fights, superheros, movies are not real and only for entertain the audiences and provide exictment. Furthermore, viewers can disginuish between fictional events and real world. For example, adults who watch action movies and fights are known that these totally based on the fictional and it has no conection with the real world. Therefore, fictional violence is not harmfull for the real world.
On the other hand, some people argue that repeated exposure to violent content can influence the people behavior, particularly that of children. Young viewers may imitate the actions of their favourite characters because they have not fully developed the ability to distinguish appropriate behaviour from inappropriate behaviour. For instance, children who watch thier fictional characters fight with each other they tried to copy these action. As a result, parents should monitor the children behavior and action so they do not harm themselves and other people.
In conclusion, although fictional violence can provide entertainment and does not automatically make people aggressive, excessive exposure may have negative effects, especially on children. I believe that television violence should be presented responsibly, and parents should guide children towards suitable programmes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and give a consistent opinion: fictional violence may entertain adults, while excessive exposure can affect children. The two body paragraphs are relevant, and the example of children copying characters supports your concern. Your conclusion also restates a balanced position and offers a practical response through parental guidance. This meets the task well, though the discussion is not equally developed: the harmless-entertainment side relies mainly on the claim that adults know fiction is not real, without exploring why this makes the content harmless or giving a specific example. The imitation point is clearer, but could be explained further. To strengthen the response, develop each view with more precise reasoning and support, while maintaining your clear position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The progression from the harmlessness argument to the possible effects on children is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers navigate the discussion. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. For example, “Therefore” introduces a conclusion that largely repeats the preceding claim, and the example about adults is not clearly separated from the general explanation. There are also abrupt joins within sentences, such as “For instance, children who watch…” followed by “As a result.” Use referencing and transitions more selectively, and make the relationship between each claim, example, and consequence explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “fictional violence,” “exposure,” “imitate,” “appropriate behaviour,” and “monitor,” which allows you to express the main ideas. There is also some attempt to use more specific language about children’s development and parental responsibility. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “victional,” “exictment,” “disginuish,” and “conection” are examples. Several phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “entertain the adults,” “based on fictional,” and “these action.” Build accuracy with common collocations and word forms before reaching for more ambitious vocabulary. Proofreading spelling and checking whether nouns, verbs, and adjectives fit their sentence will make your meaning more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex forms, including a concession in the introduction (“although…”) and a reason clause explaining why children may imitate characters. Most ideas remain understandable, and the paragraph structure gives you opportunities to vary sentence patterns. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly with articles, verb forms, agreement, and sentence boundaries. For example, “television series is not real” needs a clearer article or plural form, while “it totally based on fictional” is missing a verb and has an incomplete construction. In “they tried to copy these action,” the verb form and plural reference do not fit the intended general meaning. Review these patterns and punctuate spaces after full stops; aim to make complex sentences accurate as well as varied.
