Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argued that different movies, television series showing violence contents are harmless and only for the entertainment but others believe that sometimes it leads to conduct crimes and other criminal activities. I partially agree with that statement and will discuss the two views as well as giving my opinions.

To begin with that, all the contents, plots of movies and series are mainly made for the entertaining purposes. So, it is obvious for people to take it only as a fictional stories rather than as a reality. For example, people should watch different mockery and social contents to feel and connect themselves with the social being. Therefore, if individuals feel very much emotional, they can avoid the thriller contents and can choose others contents.

On the other hand, sometimes directors, writers do not follow the terms and conditions about making contents this drags to very offensive plots in the plots, Hence, people get atrracted and inspire to conduct different dangerous activities. For example, by watching excess levels of thrillers contents make people encourage doing harmful works. So, there should be some limitaions creating and watching contents to avoid the harmness.

To conclude, although some television contents may inspire doing frightening activities but limiting the amounts of violence in the content might provide the stable enternaining situations for the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state a position—“I partially agree”—then conclude that limiting violence could reduce harm. However, the discussion is only partial: the harmless-entertainment argument is supported mainly by saying viewers recognise fiction, while the opposing view relies on a general claim that violent programmes may inspire harmful acts. The example about “mockery and social contents” does not clearly illustrate the task’s focus on fictional violence, and no specific example or explanation shows how viewing might affect behaviour. The conclusion also does not clarify the conditions behind your partial agreement. The response is below the required minimum length, which further limits how fully you can develop reasons and examples. Explain both views with relevant, specific support and make your position consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the broad direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several links feel mechanical, such as “To begin with that,” “Therefore,” and repeated “For example” and “So.” The sentence beginning “On the other hand” combines several ideas—directors’ practices, offensive plots, audience attraction, and harmful behaviour—without clearly showing how one leads to the next. Some references are also vague, including “that statement” and “others contents.” Use clearer topic sentences, connect each explanation directly to its supporting example, and vary linking expressions while ensuring that pronouns and references have clear meanings.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “fictional stories,” “thriller,” “violent,” and “criminal activities,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “violence contents,” “for the entertaining purposes,” and “stable entertaining situations” are not natural expressions in this context. “Mockery and social contents” is also unclear as an example. There are spelling errors such as “atrracted,” “limitaions,” and “enternaining.” Build a more precise set of topic vocabulary and check common word partnerships and spelling; this will help you express the effects of fictional violence more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrastive opening and clauses with “although” and “if.” However, the range is limited, and complex constructions are often faulty. For example, “I partially agree with that statement and will discuss the two views as well as giving my opinions” mixes verb forms; “it is obvious for people to take it only as a fictional stories” has problems with the infinitive pattern and singular/plural agreement; and “by watching excess levels of thrillers contents make people encourage” lacks a clear grammatical subject and uses an awkward clause structure. Punctuation also needs attention, particularly the comma splice and capitalisation in “plots, Hence.” Practise accurate sentence patterns and check articles, agreement, and clause boundaries before adding complexity.
