Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many believe that watching fictional voilence on television is entertainment without any harmful effects. Others argue that it can stimulate aggressive behavior. This essay will highlight both these views before coming to the conclusion that voilent fiction can have a bad effect on individuals and can trigger aggression in them.
First of all, some people enjoy watching voilent content on television. They believe it to be for entertainment purpose only as these contents are fictional and far from reality. Thus, it cannot have any harmful effect on them. For example, watching a hero destroying an opponent by lifting a car and putting it on him shows that it is only a form of entertainment, without any reality and it cannot harm anyone.
On the other hand, there are others who believe that it can have serious consequences, specially on younger generation, irrespective of the fact that the scenes portrayed are fictional and unreal. As a result, youngsters do not have that much maturity level and it lead to serious issues like theft, stabbing and even murders as well. Prime examples of this can be the day- today criminal cases that we hear in daily news that happens just because of watching too much content on televsion that is voilent.
In conclusion, some people argue that watching fictional voilence is for entertainment purpose only and it has nothing to do with real life. while others believe it can have serious repercussions for the society. I also believe that it can cause problems, specially youngsters as they may replicate the actions after watching a movie.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state your own position clearly: the introduction says fictional violence “can have a bad effect,” and the conclusion reiterates that it may lead young people to copy actions. The two body paragraphs also give relevant reasons and examples. However, the harmless-entertainment view is supported mainly by an exaggerated example of a hero lifting a car, rather than a fuller explanation of why viewers can distinguish fiction from reality. The opposing argument makes a stronger claim—that television leads to theft, stabbing and murder—but does not explain or substantiate that causal link. Develop both sides more evenly, and use a specific, credible example or reasoning to support your opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “First of all,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the reader can identify your position. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, the linking is somewhat formulaic, and some connections between claims are not fully explained. For instance, the move from young people’s immaturity to serious crimes needs a clearer chain of reasoning. The final paragraph also repeats the introduction and body points rather than synthesising them. Use more precise referencing and transitions that show cause, contrast, or qualification, and make each paragraph develop one connected line of argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “fictional,” “aggressive behaviour,” “consequences,” and “repercussions.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “portrayed” and “replicate.” However, the range and control are uneven: “entertainment purpose” and “serious issues” are imprecise or unnatural, while “voilent” and “televsion” are repeated spelling errors. “Day-to-day criminal cases” is also an awkward way to describe news reports. These choices do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Build a bank of accurate collocations for discussing media effects, and proofread spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a subordinate clause in “irrespective of the fact that the scenes portrayed are fictional” and a relative clause in “that we hear in daily news.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “it lead” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, “these contents” does not agree naturally with the intended meaning, and “specially on younger generation” is missing an article and uses an unsuitable form. The sentence beginning “Prime examples of this” also has an unclear structure, particularly around “cases … that happens.” Review agreement, articles, and clause construction, and check that long sentences have a clear subject and verb. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
