Student answer (Band 5.5)

THere are split opinions regarding to fictional violence . Some believes that fictional characters on television is inoffensive type of recreation, while another group of thinkers support that it promote aggresive response.HOwever , both has its own pros and cons .Therefore, before commuting on your discussion , both opinion will be discussed.

Analysing the previous opinion, the main argument that would forward is films and programmes are created to entertain viewers not to teach them to behave violently.People understand that the actions shown in the pictures are imagfinary and not represent real life. For example, older individuals view movies to relax after busy schedule without copying the characters behaviours. Therefore, they do not necessarily lead to violence.

On the contrary, the latter view suggests that watching violent content give rise to aggressive attitude. This is because may not know the difference between fiction and reality. They may initiate languages and actionas used by their favourite hero. For instance, a childen who watch action cartoons may try to act like them when playing with friends.Infact, parents should monitor the shows their kids see and encourage them to choose age according series.

In my opinion,I would say that although fictional violence can be a source to entertain for adults, its negative impacts should not be ignored.I believe that children are more vulnerable to its influence because of their understanding or right and wrong development

in conclusion, fictional influence may provide enjoyment without harming some viewers, but it can influence others behavoiur.Therfore, i believe that violent content should be watched responsibly, particularly by teenagers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a personal position: the first body paragraph explains that fictional violence is intended to entertain, while the next describes how children may imitate characters. Your opinion—that children are more vulnerable and violent content should be watched responsibly—is also clear. These points are relevant, but some are less fully developed than others. The claim that viewers may not distinguish fiction from reality is introduced without explaining when or why this happens, and the adult-entertainment argument is supported mainly by a brief example. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation and a specific, relevant example. Your conclusion restates your position, though it could synthesise the two views more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the discussion easy to follow in broad terms. You also use signposts such as “On the contrary,” “For example,” and “In conclusion.” However, some linking is mechanical or unclear. The introduction’s “Therefore, before commuting on your discussion” does not express a clear relationship, and “both has its own pros and cons” does not accurately preview the two arguments. The opinion paragraph is very short and runs into the conclusion without a clear paragraph break. Use transitions that show the precise relationship between ideas, and ensure each paragraph has one developed purpose.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “fictional violence,” “inoffensive,” “aggressive,” “vulnerable,” and “monitor,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also some appropriate phrases, such as “after busy schedule” and “negative impacts,” although these need more natural wording. Several inaccurate word choices, word forms, and spelling errors reduce precision: “commuting on your discussion,” “imagfinary,” “actionas,” and “behavoiur” are examples. Phrases such as “initiate languages” and “choose age according series” are difficult to understand. Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than using ambitious wording that does not fit the meaning, and proofread spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “although” and explanations introduced by “because.” The main message is generally understandable, but control is uneven, and errors in agreement, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “Some believes” and “both has” have subject–verb agreement problems, while “This is because may not know” is missing a clear subject. The sentence beginning “I believe that children are more vulnerable” is incomplete, and punctuation spacing and capitalisation are inconsistent. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, then review agreement and sentence boundaries before submitting.
