Student answer (Band 5.5)

THERE IS ON GOING DEBATE ON FICTIONAL VIOLENCE, SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT IT IS HARMFUL ACTIVITY IN FICTIONAL WORLD, AND OTHERS ARGUEE WITH IT BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THAT THIS TYPE OF ACTIONS ENCOURAGE OTHERS IN NEGATIVE WAY. IN THIS ESSAY BOTH VIEWS WILL BE DISCUSSED WITH RELEVANT EXAMPLES AND ALSO MY PERSPECTIVE.

ON THE ONE HAND, IN MORDEN WORLD FICTIONAL MOVIES AND SERIES USE TECHNOLOGY TO PORTRAY ACTION SCENES FOR POPULARITY, AND THEY KNOW ABOUT THEIR AUDIENCE THAT THEY WILL NOT TAKE IT IN A HARMFUL WAY. MOST OF THE MOVIES ONLY ALLOWS 18+ AUDIENCE IN THE THEATER. AND THEY ALSO SHOOT THE VIOLENCE SCENES UNDER THE OBSERVATION WITH PROPER PRECAUTIONS. FOR AN EXAMPLE, MARVAL'S MOVIE HAVE MANY FICTIONAL VIOLENCE FOR ENTERTAINING THE VIEWERS AND IT DONE BY TRAINED STUNT MAN, SO PEOPLE DO NOT GET ENCOURAGE BY THIS ACTIONS.

ON THE OTHER HAND, OTHER THINKS THAT THIS TYPE OF FICTIONAL VIOLENCE PROMOTES THE YOUTH IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES IN REAL LIFE. ADOLESCENTS LOOK UP TO THIS KIND OF MOVIES AND THINKS THAY ALSO CAN DO THIS TYPE OF STUNTS IN THEIR LIFE, SO MANY PARENTS DO NOT SUPPORT THIS TYPE OF ACTIONS DUE TO THIS KIDS GET EMOTIONALY NUMB AND THEY SUFFER IN REAL LIFE. FOR EXAMPLE, RECENT SURVEY FOUND AN INSIDENT OF A KID, WHO TRIED TO FLY AFTER WATCHING SUPERHERO FILM AND HE DIED.

IN CONCLUSION, BOTH THE POINTS ARE VALID, BUT FROM MY PERSPECTIVE PEOPLE SHOULD BE AWARE FROM THEIR CHOICES AND THEY HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WHAT THEY WATCH, AND THIS TYPE OF VIOLENCE ONLY DONE BY PROFESIONAL STUNT. MOVIES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HARMFUL INSIDENT IT IS ONLY FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT PERPOUS.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a personal position: the first body paragraph argues that fictional violence is controlled entertainment, while the second explains concerns about young viewers copying stunts. The examples of trained stunt performers and a child imitating a superhero help make the discussion relevant. However, the two sides are not developed equally clearly. The claim that films are generally restricted to adults does not explain how this makes fictional violence harmless, and the survey example is presented without enough detail to show how representative it is. Your conclusion says viewers should be careful, but also that films are not responsible; clarify how this position weighs the possible influence on children against personal responsibility.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the reader can identify the purpose of each paragraph. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, connections within sentences are sometimes awkward, and ideas can run together—for example, the sentence beginning “Adolescents look up to this kind of movies” moves from imitation to parental concern and emotional effects without clearly showing the links. Use more precise referencing and divide or connect related points so the reasoning flows naturally rather than relying mainly on paragraph-level signposts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “fictional violence,” “audience,” “stunts,” and “emotional numb,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts to use more specific expressions, such as “under the observation with proper precautions.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision: “morden,” “arguee,” “Marval’s,” and “entertaining the viewers” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, including “promotes the youth in physical activities” and “aware from their choices.” These errors do not prevent the reader from following the overall argument, but they make parts less clear. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “a kid, who tried to fly” and a reason clause introduced by “because.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the central meaning is usually recoverable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly with subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries. For example, “Most of the movies only allows” should use a plural verb, while “other thinks” and “this kind of movies” also show agreement or number problems. The long sentence beginning “Adolescents look up…” contains several ideas joined without clear grammatical control. Practise checking each clause for a clear subject and verb, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
