Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and give a personal position: you say fictional violence is mainly entertainment, while acknowledging that some viewers may imitate crimes. This is relevant to the question, but the discussion is only partial and the position becomes difficult to follow in places. For example, the claim that programmes are made with artificial intelligence does not explain why they are harmless entertainment, and the conclusion combines “funny clips” with learning life lessons without clearly weighing the two views. The examples of pickpocketing and drug supply are relevant but asserted rather than explained or supported. Develop each side with a clear reason and a specific example, then state your opinion consistently and explain why you hold it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion, so there is some basic organisation. However, the progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the first body paragraph moves from crime imitation to family relationships and phone use without showing how these points connect. Linking phrases such as “To commence with,” “Secondly,” and “Nevertheless” signal stages, but they are sometimes mechanical or do not clarify the relationship between ideas. The conclusion also repeats earlier claims rather than bringing them together. Improve the progression by giving each paragraph one central point, explaining it, and then linking it explicitly to the question. Use pronouns and references carefully so readers can tell what “it” and “this” refer to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “fictional violence,” “violent behaviour,” “entertainment,” and “mental and physical health,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, sometimes making meaning harder to understand. Phrases such as “effect on human behaviour,” “refresh their moods,” and “recharge their batteries” are not used naturally in context; repeated references to “people” and “effect” also limit precision. Spelling errors such as “harmfull,” “tolly,” and “secreats” further reduce clarity. Build a more precise set of expressions for discussing media influence, imitation, and relaxation, and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “when,” “because,” and “due to,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For instance, “it is totally effect on human behaviour” lacks a correct verb pattern, while “people watch programme and learn how to start” has problems with articles and agreement. The sentence beginning “To explain it” also contains unclear clause structure, and punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly formed supporting clause, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries.
