Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, the amout of violence show on TV serials is significantly increase. Some individuals argue that violence on TV is harmless, while other believe that it encourages violent behaviour even violence broadcast on TV is fictional. In my opinion, while fictional violent did not cause violet behaviour, and it can have a negative effect on young teenagers. In this essay I wiil discuss both points and give my opinion.
Firstly, some people think that fictional violent broadcast on TV is harmless entertainment. Most of viewers understand the difference between reality and fiction. For instance, many people watch action movies and crime web series they know the actual difference between stunt and fight are fake. Furthermore, most people argue that TV is a way of entertainment. Watching dramatic movie can help people to relax after a busy day without causing any problem in society.
On the other hand, some argue that fiction violence have negative effect on students or teenagers behaviours. Most of young students are impressed by their favorite actors and followed their stunts. For instance, people who wacth more aggrasive movies they think that aggression is the only way to solve all problems. Moreover, some studies suggest that people who watch more violence in front of screen it effect the person emotional ability, making them less symphathatic towards victims of real world violence.
In conclusion, although both views have valid points. Most of young people watch crime and action movies on TV without changing their behaviour, but it can negatively influenced on young students mind. Therefore, parents needs to moniter their children to prevent further adverse effect.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and give a clear overall position: fictional violence is generally harmless for most viewers, but may negatively affect young people. The examples about viewers recognising staged fights and teenagers imitating actors are relevant, and the conclusion returns to your main point. This meets the task well, though the two sides are not developed equally. The harmless-entertainment argument is supported mainly by viewers knowing fiction is not real and by television helping people relax; the possible effects on teenagers receive more explanation. To strengthen the response, explain the mechanisms or conditions behind each claim and make your own position more explicit in the body, rather than relying chiefly on the introduction and conclusion. Some claims, such as the reference to studies, would also benefit from a specific example or explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and examples generally appear beside the ideas they support. This is a sound foundation, with some movement towards more flexible organisation. However, linking is sometimes mechanical, and a few connections are unclear—for example, “although both views have valid points” is followed by a sentence that does not clearly contrast or qualify the views. Some sentences also combine several ideas without clear links. Use pronouns and transitions more precisely, and organise each body paragraph around one claim followed by its explanation and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “fictional,” “violent behaviour,” “aggression,” “victims,” and “adverse effect,” so the reader can understand the main discussion. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “emotional ability” and “solve all problems.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the phrasing difficult to interpret: “amout,” “wacth,” “aggrasive,” and “symphathatic” are examples. Several combinations are also unnatural, including “fictional violent” and “violence broadcast on TV.” This fits a limited but usable range for the topic. Build accuracy by learning common collocations and checking spelling, and choose precise forms such as “fictional violence” or “violent content” rather than adapting words without checking their form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast in “while fictional violent did not cause…” and a result clause in “making them less…” The main ideas remain understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “the amount … is significantly increase” has an incorrect verb form, while “some individuals … while other believe” lacks agreement and a plural form. The opening opinion sentence is also structurally unclear, and “although both views have valid points” is left as a dependent clause rather than a complete sentence. These issues show that complex structures are being attempted but are not yet controlled consistently. Practise complete clauses and check subject–verb agreement and verb forms when editing.
