Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the table, including the three categories of injury and the percentage increases. However, the data presentation is somewhat inconsistent. For instance, the figures for 'slight' injuries are described as '653' in 1998-1999, which appears to be a misreading of the table data. Additionally, the summary of trends is present, but the comparison between categories could be more analytical. The overview is provided, but it lacks the precision required for a higher band score, as some data points are inaccurately reported or confusingly phrased.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'In 1998-1999', 'Overall'). The progression of ideas is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, such as the transition between the description of fatal injuries and serious injuries. While the paragraphing is present, the internal logic within paragraphs could be improved to ensure a smoother flow of information between the data points.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety expected at higher levels. There are several instances of awkward word choice and grammatical errors involving word forms, such as 'slight injured' instead of 'slightly injured' and 'people are died' instead of 'people died'. The use of 'considerably highest' is also non-standard. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology for describing trends, such as 'significant increase' or 'fluctuated', and ensure correct word forms are used.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include '405 percent of people admitted to medical service' and 'by the end 476 people had serious health condition'. Subject-verb agreement and tense usage are inconsistent throughout the text (e.g., 'this number increases' vs 'this number also increases'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents a higher score.
