Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the task by identifying the main features of the data, such as the overall percentage increases and specific peak years. However, the report is somewhat superficial. While you mention the 2004-05 period and the 2005-06 peak for serious cases, the analysis lacks a clear, cohesive summary of the trends. The data presentation is slightly disjointed, and some figures are presented without sufficient context or comparison. To improve, ensure you clearly group the data by category (fatal, serious, slight) and provide a more analytical overview of the trends rather than simply listing isolated statistics. The inclusion of the total percentage increase is a good feature, but the overall summary could be more integrated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the flow between sentences is often mechanical and lacks sophisticated cohesive devices. For example, phrases like 'It have been observed' and 'As through stats we get to know' are somewhat repetitive and do not effectively link the ideas. The use of punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the overuse of commas where full stops or conjunctions would be more appropriate. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to create a smoother progression of ideas throughout the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You rely heavily on simple verbs like 'get', 'show', and 'increase'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'most intrusting' (likely meant 'interesting') and 'era' used to describe a two-year period. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to data reporting, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'significant growth', or 'dramatic surge'. Expanding your range of synonyms for 'increase' and 'recorded' will help demonstrate a more flexible control of language and improve the overall sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('It have been observed', 'numbers are getting increased'), incorrect preposition usage, and punctuation errors, such as comma splices ('The most dramatic change was in year 2004-05 as the numbers almost got doubled in slight cases, The most serious cases was recorded'). The sentence structure is often fragmented. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using commas correctly to separate clauses rather than joining independent sentences with them.
