Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the data, including the overall trends and specific figures for fatal, serious, and slight injuries. You also made relevant comparisons between the categories. However, the report could be improved by ensuring the data points are presented with greater clarity. For instance, the phrasing 'the total percentage were at 194% and from 653 to 3296 cases in the end' is slightly confusing to follow. To reach a higher band, ensure that the relationship between the years and the categories is explicitly stated to avoid ambiguity for the reader. Overall, you have covered all parts of the task well.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Overall' and 'starting from', to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more precise. For example, in the final paragraph, the use of 'respectively' at the end of the sentence is slightly awkward given the structure of the preceding clauses. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuation', 'proportion', and 'considerable growth'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'proportion incline' is not standard English; 'percentage increase' would be more appropriate. Additionally, 'slightly injuries' is grammatically incorrect; it should be 'slight injuries'. While these errors do not impede communication, they limit your score. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that you use the correct word forms (adjectives vs. nouns) when describing data trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'the figure of injuries such as fatal, serious and slight' (should be 'the number of fatal, serious, and slight injuries') and 'the total percentage were' (should be 'was'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding the information. To achieve a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will also help demonstrate better control over your grammar.
