Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main features of the data, such as the overall upward trend and specific figures for the start and end of the period. However, the analysis is limited to a list-like presentation of data points rather than a synthesis of the information. The summary fails to highlight the percentage increase column mentioned in the prompt, which is a key feature of the data. The overview is also quite basic. To improve, you should group data logically and focus on comparing trends rather than simply transcribing individual figures.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is organized into a single block of text, which makes it difficult to follow. There is a lack of paragraphing to separate the introduction, overview, and body details. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and repetitive way, such as the frequent use of 'And with the time' and 'In year...'. The progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed, and the lack of clear linking words between sentences hinders the flow of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use the same words, such as 'injury', 'crimes', and 'increases'. There are also some awkward phrasing choices, such as 'We can clearly saw' (grammatically incorrect) and 'carry on till 2007'. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'remained stable', or 'significant growth', and avoid repeating the same nouns and verbs throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Examples include 'We can clearly saw' (should be 'see'), 'total injury were' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'In, 1998-1999 year' (incorrect punctuation and article usage). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. You need to focus on basic subject-verb agreement and correct verb tense usage, as well as improving punctuation around dates and introductory phrases.
