Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You highlighted the significant increase in total injuries and correctly compared the percentage growth across the three categories. However, there are some inaccuracies in your data reporting. For instance, you mention there was 'no recorded serious or slight injury in 2007', which is not supported by the provided data. Additionally, the overview could be more clearly separated from the specific details to better meet the requirements of a high-level summary. Ensure that all data points cited are strictly accurate to the source material provided.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized into three paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of your analysis. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'It is therefore evident' to link your ideas. However, the transition between the overview and the supporting details could be smoother. Some sentences feel slightly disconnected, and the use of punctuation is occasionally inconsistent, such as missing spaces after commas (e.g., 'Furthermore, the'). Improving the variety and precision of your linking words would enhance the flow of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'categorised', 'proportions', and 'significant'. However, there are some instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'peak high' and 'maximum high', which are redundant. You also use 'fatal related injuries', which is slightly awkward; 'fatal injuries' would suffice. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. Your spelling is generally accurate, but ensure you pay closer attention to word combinations to sound more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'The injuries has being categorised' contains subject-verb agreement and tense errors (should be 'have been categorized'). There are also issues with missing spaces after punctuation marks, which affects the overall presentation. While your meaning is generally clear, these recurring errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will significantly improve your score.
