Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarise the provided data, but it fails to clearly identify the main features or trends. While you mention the rise in crime, the description of the data is often inaccurate or confusing. For example, stating that 'slight crime is more than other' is a vague observation, and the interpretation of the figures is inconsistent. You have included some specific data points, but the lack of a clear overview and the failure to accurately compare the categories (fatal, serious, slight) across the period prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on grouping data logically and highlighting the most significant changes rather than listing individual years in a disjointed manner.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. The progression of ideas is often disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the narrative of the data. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore' and 'Later on', but they are often used incorrectly or in a way that does not effectively link the sentences. The referencing is also unclear at times, particularly when discussing the trends. The overall structure lacks a clear, logical progression, which is necessary for a higher band score. Improving the use of transition words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would greatly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are several spelling errors, such as 'gum' (gun), 'papularity' (popularity), 'serous' (serious), and 'fimiliar' (familiar). The word choice is often imprecise, such as 'further time travel crime rate' and 'easy order', which makes the meaning unclear. You rely on basic vocabulary to describe the trends, which does not demonstrate the range required for a higher band. To improve, you should focus on learning specific collocations for describing data, such as 'witnessed a significant increase' or 'remained relatively stable', and ensure you proofread your work to correct basic spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'crime rate start rising'), tense usage (e.g., 'crime rate will rise'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, and there is a lack of complex structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect capitalization. While you attempt to use some complex ideas, the lack of control over basic grammar limits your score. Focusing on sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and practicing basic punctuation will help you achieve a higher level of accuracy.
