Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the task by summarizing the provided data. However, the selection of information is inconsistent and lacks a clear overview of the main trends. While some figures are mentioned, the analysis is fragmented and fails to effectively highlight the significant changes over the period. The report struggles to make meaningful comparisons, often listing data points without synthesizing them into a coherent narrative. The conclusion regarding the percentage increase is confusing and does not accurately reflect the data provided in the table. To improve, focus on identifying the most significant trends (e.g., the overall upward trajectory) and grouping data logically rather than listing individual years.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'At the last between the time period of 2002-2003'. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the timeline or understand which figures correspond to which categories. The transition between sentences is often abrupt, and the lack of clear signposting makes the report feel like a series of disconnected statements rather than a cohesive summary. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would greatly enhance readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to describe the data with precision. Phrases like 'the fatal are just 49' and 'the fatal series and slights peoples were also expand' demonstrate a lack of control over word choice and collocation. There are several instances of incorrect word forms, such as 'expand' used instead of 'increased' or 'expanded'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information clearly. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise terminology related to statistics and trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'remained stable', or 'a significant rise'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the fatal are just 49', 'the serious were also increased') and article usage. Sentence structures are predominantly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences are often marred by errors in syntax and punctuation. For example, 'the fatal can decrease by 15 but the serious were continuously expanded' is awkward and grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly the correct use of tenses when describing past data, and ensure that subjects and verbs agree consistently.
