Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarize the data, but it fails to clearly identify the main trends or provide a comprehensive overview. While it mentions the increase in injuries, the description of the data is fragmented and lacks precision. For example, the statement that numbers became 'four time increased' is vague and does not accurately reflect the specific data points provided in the table. Furthermore, the comparison between years is confusing, and the reporting of figures is inconsistent. To improve, you should focus on selecting the most significant data points and grouping them logically to highlight clear trends rather than listing isolated figures.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. The transition between the introduction and the body is abrupt, and the internal structure of the second paragraph is difficult to follow. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'in starting year period' and 'which indicated'. The referencing is also unclear, making it difficult for the reader to track the progression of the data. Better use of linking words like 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in contrast' would help improve the logical flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'fetal injuries' (which should be 'fatal') and 'most huge amount'. The phrase 'done by two different weapons' is also unnatural in this context. You rely on basic descriptors like 'increased' and 'remained same' throughout the text. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'significant rise', 'remained stable', or 'fluctuated', and ensure that your terminology is accurate for the subject matter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the response that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('The table illustrate'), incorrect preposition usage ('at Great Britain'), and awkward sentence structures. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation, such as the run-on sentences in the second paragraph. The range of grammatical structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, before attempting more complex structures.
