Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the task but fails to provide a clear overview or highlight the main trends effectively. The summary is largely a list of figures, which lacks analytical depth. Furthermore, the interpretation of the data is inaccurate; for instance, the claim that injuries 'became at 0%' is not supported by the data provided in the table. The response focuses too heavily on listing year-by-year statistics rather than grouping data to identify significant trends or making meaningful comparisons between the categories of injury. To improve, you should focus on identifying the overall trajectory and selecting key data points to support your observations rather than transcribing the entire table.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow of information is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the abrupt transition 'in 1998-1999total rate'. The progression of ideas is difficult to follow because the sentences are linked in a repetitive, list-like manner. Referencing is often unclear, and the lack of logical connectors between the data points makes the text feel like a series of isolated statements rather than a cohesive report. Improving your use of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'in contrast', 'furthermore') would help create a smoother narrative flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'numbers', 'rate', and 'increased'. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'crime tools which are gun and knife used in committed crime' and 'injurees were controlled'. The spelling of 'slightl' is incorrect. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision or sophistication. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more varied and precise terminology related to statistics and trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'a significant decline', or 'the majority of incidents'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'tables demonstrate', 'total numbers jumps'), incorrect tense usage (e.g., 'its became', 'number became decreased'), and missing articles. Sentence structures are predominantly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences are often marred by errors in punctuation and syntax. For example, 'in 2007 drastically decreased in all other parts only 58 numbers were happened' is grammatically incoherent. Focusing on basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for punctuation errors will significantly improve your score.
