Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully identified the main features of the data and provided a clear overview. You accurately highlighted the trends for slight, serious, and fatal injuries and included relevant comparisons, such as noting that slight injuries had the highest percentage increase. The data is well-selected, and the key figures are correctly reported. To reach a higher band, ensure that you consistently group data logically rather than listing figures chronologically, which can sometimes make the analysis feel like a list of numbers. Overall, you have addressed all parts of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore,' 'In contrast,' and 'This is followed by' to guide the reader through the information. The progression of ideas is smooth, and each paragraph has a clear focus. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different categories of injuries. The flow of information is natural, and the use of referencing is generally clear, making the text easy to follow throughout.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. Phrases like 'fluctuating trend,' 'peaked at a figure of,' and 'declining to' are used accurately. While the vocabulary is functional and precise, it is mostly standard. To achieve a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations or less common lexical items to describe the trends, such as 'marginal increase' or 'dramatic surge.' However, the current vocabulary is accurate and appropriate for the task, with no errors that impede communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures effectively. Most of your sentences are error-free, and your control over tense and punctuation is strong. For example, your use of relative clauses and participial phrases helps to vary the sentence structure. There are very few grammatical slips, and the meaning is always clear. To improve further, you could experiment with more advanced structures, such as inversion or conditional forms, though the current level of accuracy is already quite high and supports the clarity of your report.
