Student answer (Band 4.0)

firstly the line table summarise a different numbers of fatal an addiction serious and slight injuries by the gun and knife crime from the 1998 to 2007 so in these years percentage increases on each injury over the time it's also happen in great Britain.

Overall it can be observe that percentage of knife crime is also higher than to the slight and gun crime because in that first one year a slight percentage 653 and serious is 162 and other one is falat stable on 49 so in that case of crime knife crime is such under quite crime and most attacked rather then to others.

Featuremore in a middle year of percentage like 2003 to 2004 in that year is such a highly acclaimed than to the other crimes a slight percentage is 1862 is most killed persons in that year in a total rate at the end fo the last

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to address the task by discussing the table on gun and knife crime in Great Britain from 1998 to 2007. However, the selection of data is largely inaccurate and confused. For example, the writer cites the 1998-1999 slight injury figure of 653 as a percentage, and misinterprets the statistics significantly, claiming that knife crime is 'quite crime' and confusing injury categories with frequencies of crimes. There is no clear overview presented, and important trends—such as the overall percentage increase or peak figures—are poorly reported or misunderstood. This falls short of the requirements for higher bands.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The organization of the text is weak. The response is divided into three blocks of text that do not function as proper academic paragraphs, and the progression of ideas is difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or incorrectly (e.g., 'firstly', 'so in these years', 'Featuremore', 'at the end fo the last'). Referencing is extremely unclear, making it hard to discern which data point connects to which year or category. Overall, the information is not arranged in a coherent manner.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

Vocabulary is very limited, repetitive, and often misused. Terms like 'line table', 'falat', 'quite crime', and 'Featuremore' demonstrate a lack of control over basic and academic vocabulary. Word choices frequently lead to confusion, such as turning numbers into percentages or inventing phrases like 'most killed persons'. Spelling errors ('falat' instead of fatal, 'Featuremore' instead of furthermore, 'fo' instead of of) further detract from the quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of poorly constructed, overly long run-on sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions like 'so' and 'and'. There is a complete lack of control over complex sentence structures. Grammatical errors are pervasive throughout the text (e.g., 'the line table summarise a different numbers', 'percentage increases on each injury over the time it's also happen', 'is such a highly acclaimed than to the other crimes'), frequently impeding the reader's understanding.
