Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarise the data, but it suffers from a major structural and strategic flaw: instead of selecting and reporting main features and making comparisons, it lists almost every individual year mechanically (e.g., 'From year 2000 to 2001... From year 2001 to 2002...'). Furthermore, the final year of data (2006-2007) and the overall percentage increase figures provided in the table are completely omitted. This amounts to a mechanical listing rather than an analytical summary, restricting the response to Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The essay lacks a logical overall progression and effective paragraphing. Almost every single sentence starts on a new line or forms its own micro-paragraph, resulting in a disjointed and repetitive structure. Cohesive devices are extremely basic and mechanical, relying heavily on repetitive time markers such as 'From year... to...' at the beginning of nearly every sentence. There is no clear overview paragraph grouping trends logically together, which negatively impacts the flow and readability.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very basic, repetitive, and heavily dependent on copying the prompt's exact words (e.g., 'fatal injuries', 'serious injuries', 'slight injuries', 'total injuries'). There is almost no attempt to use less common lexical items or paraphrase numerical data. Minor phrasing errors occur, such as 'its 1195' and 'expand at a faster pace than last years'. The lexical range is minimally adequate for conveying basic facts, but lacks precision and flexibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response contains numerous grammatical errors and awkward sentence structures. There are major issues with comma splices and run-on sentences, such as 'the total injuries were 864, 49 fatal injuries, 162 serious injuries and 653 slight injuries' lacking proper conjunctions. Tense usage is inconsistent, and auxiliary verbs are frequently missing (e.g., 'its 1195'). While a mix of simple and emerging complex structures is attempted, frequent errors cause noticeable strain for the reader.
