Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the three injury categories and make some relevant observations, including the sharp rise in slight injuries in 2004–05 and the overall increase in recorded cases. However, the overview is unclear and includes a major factual error: serious and slight injuries were recorded in 2005–06 (476 and 3,296 respectively); the dashes apply only to 2006–07. The claim that serious and slight crimes were absent therefore misreads the table. Several trends are also described too generally, and the final sentence is incomplete. To make the report more effective, give a clear overview of the main pattern and accurately compare the categories, using selected figures to support those points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview and detail paragraphs, and the discussion broadly moves from overall patterns to individual injury types. However, progression is difficult to follow because ideas are repeated or left incomplete. For example, the overview says all injuries rose, while the later account says fatal cases fell after 2002; these points need clearer qualification. Linking phrases such as “After that” and “By the time” are used, but connections between claims are sometimes unclear, and the final line, “Proposition of these crimes always remains in upwa,” does not complete the report. Use distinct paragraphs for the overview and comparisons, and connect each trend to a specific period.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some relevant vocabulary, including “fatal,” “serious,” “slight,” “upward trend” and “increased,” so the reader can recognise the topic and intended comparisons. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning unclear. “Proposition” is not the right term for the percentage change, “crimes” is repeatedly used where the table reports injuries or cases, and “downfall of crimes” is unnatural. There are also spelling and form errors such as “folows,” “follwed” and “United KIngdom.” Aim for precise data-reporting language and check spelling; for example, describe figures as “the number of cases” and changes as “a rise” or “a decline.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors frequently make the report harder to read. Examples include missing spaces and punctuation in “Overall,All injuries,” the fragment-like construction “After that there was slightly downfall of crimes had been recorded,” and the incomplete final sentence. Articles and sentence structure are also problematic in phrases such as “in next year” and “the gun and knife caused only 49 fatal cases.” Most sentences would benefit from being rebuilt with a clear subject and verb, followed by a correctly formed comparison. Check sentence boundaries, articles and tense consistency, and avoid joining several ideas with commas.
