Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the subject and mention several relevant patterns, including the large rise in slight injuries and the smaller percentage increase in fatal injuries. However, the overview is unclear and some reporting is inaccurate: the total did not fall in 2007 to 3,821; that figure is for 2005–2006, while the 2006–2007 total is not provided. The table also shows slight injuries rising sharply to 3,424 in 2004–2005 before easing to 3,296, a key feature that is not explained. Your response is 121 words, below the required 150, so the task is only minimally covered. Select the main trends accurately and support them with clear comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to group information: you introduce the table, then discuss injury categories and totals. Linking phrases such as “while on the other hand” and “although” show an effort to connect ideas. However, the response does not progress clearly from an overview to organised details, and the final sentences repeat earlier points about increases and declines. References such as “the total amount of injuries linked to declined” are difficult to follow, while the sequence of years and figures is not consistently clear. Use separate paragraphs for the overall trends and supporting comparisons, and make each sentence add a distinct piece of information.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “fatal,” “serious,” “slight,” “percentage increase,” and “over the period.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “significant value,” “kept incline and decline,” and “total case.” Spelling errors, including “eventualy,” “reccorded,” “numerious,” and “increse,” also reduce clarity and control. Aim for precise data-reporting language, for example “the number of cases rose,” “fluctuated,” and “accounted for the largest share,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the main topic is usually understandable. However, grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “The table compare” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “the figure of injuries have increased” has a mismatch between singular and plural forms. The sentence beginning “the total amount of injuries linked to declined” is incomplete or incorrectly constructed, and several sentences lack appropriate capitalisation or punctuation. Practise accurate simple sentence patterns first, then combine them using clauses such as “Although fatal injuries fluctuated, slight injuries rose substantially.” Proofread agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
