Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response makes a limited attempt to describe the table, identifying the subject and reporting some figures for the first three periods. For example, it gives the 1998–99 figures correctly and reports 62 and 200 for fatal and serious injuries in 1999–2000. However, it gives 300 rather than 933 for slight injuries in that year, and the response ends while discussing 2000–01. It does not summarise the full period, compare the categories meaningfully, or identify the main overall features, such as the strong rise in slight injuries and the overall increase shown in the total. The opening discussion of general progress and crime is not supported by the table. Focus on the data and provide a concise overview followed by accurate, selected comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to move from an introduction to figures for successive years, and phrases such as “Whereas in 1999-2000” signal a comparison. However, the response does not develop a clear overall progression: the general opening is disconnected from the table, and the account stops partway through the 2000–01 figures. Several ideas run together in a single block, with inconsistent punctuation and capitalisation making relationships difficult to follow. The repeated transitions (“Similarly,” “Whereas,” “in the years”) do not create a complete, well-organised report. Use separate paragraphs for an overview and the key data, and group related years or injury categories so the reader can follow the comparisons.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response shows some topic-related vocabulary, including “fatal,” “serious,” “slight category,” “statistics,” and “significant increase.” These terms indicate an attempt to describe the table, but the range is basic and some choices are inaccurate or awkward. “Fatal injured people” is not a natural way to describe the category, while “the bad things also had its face” and “every coin has two sides” are unsuitable for a factual report. There are also spelling errors, including “Delinate” and “serioud,” and “300” appears where the table gives 933, though this is a data error rather than a vocabulary issue. Prefer precise reporting language such as “fatal injuries” and “the number rose,” and avoid figurative commentary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts some longer sentence forms, including “Similarly where are good things are rapidly increasing, the bad things also had its face,” but control is weak and the sentence is difficult to interpret. Basic sentence boundaries and punctuation are often missing: the opening runs several clauses together, and the final “th” leaves the last sentence incomplete. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “the number of fatal injured people is 49 which is 162 and 653” and “in the years from 2000 to 2001 thd to e number constantly increased.” These errors frequently interrupt clarity, and there is little evidence of consistently accurate sentence patterns. Build shorter, complete sentences first, then add controlled comparisons using accurate verb forms and punctuation.
