Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify some relevant headline features, including the rise in total injuries from 864 to 3,912 and the 405% increase in slight injuries. However, the overview is incomplete and some claims misread the table: 2004–05 has the highest total, but not the highest fatal-injury figure (that was 95 in 2001–02); 58 fatal injuries in 2006–07 is not the lowest figure, since 49 were recorded in both 1998–99 and 2005–06. The table gives no serious or slight figures for 2006–07, so these should be described as unavailable, not as zero. The response also falls 9 words short of the required minimum. Include clearer comparisons across categories and report the percentage increases accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and further comments on the figures. This gives the reader some sense of how the information is organised. However, progression is limited because the overview and the following paragraph repeat the idea that 2004–05 had the highest figures, and the final sentence restates the total increase rather than adding a distinct comparison. Linking is also sometimes unclear, as in “In conclusion overall data trend. shows,” where punctuation interrupts the connection between ideas. Group the information more deliberately—for example, describe the overall totals and then compare injury categories—and use clear transitions to show how each point relates to the previous one.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “percentage increase,” “fatal injury,” and “total number of injury,” so the main subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spelling errors make the report less precise: “decending,” “victiom,” and “tatal” are noticeable, while “lowest crime rate” does not accurately describe the lowest number of recorded injuries. Phrases such as “data of victims of gun and knife” and “highest ranked” are also unnatural or unclear. Choose precise terms for the table’s measures, such as “number of injuries” and “percentage rise,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer constructions, and the reader can understand several key points, such as the increase in the total from 864 to 3,912. However, the range is limited, and frequent errors affect clarity. For example, “there was significant increase” needs an article, while “Highest crime rates was” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “The lowest percentage increase was 185” is also difficult to follow because its grammatical structure does not clearly connect the figure to the category. Punctuation is unreliable in “In conclusion overall data trend. shows.” Use complete, carefully punctuated sentences, check articles and agreement, and make comparisons with clear structures such as “The total rose from … to …”.
