Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the subject and include an overview, noting that slight injuries were the largest category and that the total was lowest at the beginning. However, the overview contains a major factual error: 3,912 is the total for 2004–2005, while 2005–2006 recorded 3,821. Several details are vague or inaccurate: fatal injuries peaked at 95 in 2001–2002, but “had control over it in 20s” does not clearly describe the subsequent figures; serious injuries rose from 162 to 476, not by “around 314” as stated. The percentage figures are also confused: slight injuries increased by 405%, while the total rose by 342%. Select the main trends and report them precisely, with a clear overview.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. Phrases such as “To begin with” and “Moreover” signal some relationships between points. However, the progression is not consistently clear. The first body paragraph moves between fatal, serious and slight injuries without a clear comparison, and the second shifts to percentage increases without explaining how these relate to the yearly figures. Some linking phrases are awkward or repetitive, including “Moving towards to the rest of the information” and repeated uses of “Moreover.” Organise the report into a paragraph on overall yearly trends and one on percentage changes, and use clear references and transitions so readers can follow each comparison.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “fatal,” “serious injury,” “slight injury,” “percentage” and “total,” so the reader can recognise the categories being described. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear. For example, “had control over it” does not express a clear trend, “it lift around 314” is not an appropriate way to describe an increase, and “the leat one” appears to be a misspelling of “least.” Phrases such as “the second minimum” and “had only left around” are also difficult to interpret. Use precise reporting language such as “rose,” “peaked,” “declined” and “accounted for,” and check spelling and natural collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the response is generally recognisable as a report. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns frequently make individual statements difficult to understand. For example, “in the year between 1998 to 2007” uses an incorrect preposition pattern, while “there is a total 3912 persons” lacks an article and has an awkward noun construction. In “it rise on the year … although had control over it,” the verb forms and clause structure are faulty. There are also problems with articles, agreement and punctuation, as in “the total of fatal .” Practise forming complete sentences with accurate past-tense verbs and clear subjects, and proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
