In recent years, through the internet, air travel, trade and popular culture, globalisation has rapidly increased. Many people believe that the increased interaction between nations through globalisation is a good thing.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

I strongly agree with the given statement that increased interactive activities of countries is really awesome. I have plethora of reasons to justify my opinion. Let us dig deeper in details.

To begin with, interaction between different nations boosts the communication and economy of the countries. For instance, due to air travel, trade and internet, it has become possible to connect to the people of different countries. Students can pursue their higher studies in their desired country through air travel or internet. Merchants, traders and businesses also profit from the globalisation by selling, buying or trading their products overseas.

Furthermore, it creates more and more job opportunities for individuals, such as in the area of air ticketing, international businesses and global internet workers. Due to this, most of the youngsters are encouraged to be employed in respected areas rather than being a criminal or doing something illegal just because they cannot get a job. If everyone is employed in a country, the country's economy and wealth grows to a great extent.

Explaining the next reason according to my opinion, interactions among nations increase in better friendships and mutual understanding, which reduces conflicts between the countries. This might result in less chances of wars and terrorism, hence giving the people of the world a sense of relief from the continous disagreements between countries and the fear of fights. It will encourage people to communicate with foriegn people without any doubts in mind and reduce racism.

To conclude, the increase in global interaction of countries is definitely a good thing for the whole world according to the given reasons.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the opening—“I strongly agree”—and the response stays focused on benefits of globalisation. You address several relevant effects, including education and trade, employment, and improved understanding between nations. Examples such as students studying abroad and businesses trading overseas help explain the points. The discussion is not equally developed throughout, however: the employment paragraph makes a broad claim that jobs prevent crime without explaining the link, while the point about friendship reducing war and racism would benefit from a specific example or clearer reasoning. To strengthen the response, develop each main idea with a more precise explanation and support, and acknowledge a possible drawback before explaining why you still agree overall.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, three body paragraphs present separate benefits, and a conclusion restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “To conclude” make the progression easy to follow. Some cohesion is mechanical, though, and the opening “Let us dig deeper in details” does not add much to the argument. Within paragraphs, ideas sometimes move quickly—for example, the employment point shifts from job creation to crime and then national wealth without fully showing the connections. Use linking language that expresses the specific relationship between claims, and build each paragraph around one central point with explanation and an example.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “globalisation,” “mutual understanding,” “job opportunities,” and “economy.” There are also attempts at less common or emphatic expressions, such as “plethora of reasons” and “sense of relief.” However, some choices are unnatural or imprecise: “increased interactive activities of countries,” “global internet workers,” and “increase in better friendships” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “continous” and “foriegn” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, conventional collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your argument sound more fluent and appropriately academic without requiring more elaborate vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which” and “just because,” and most sentences remain understandable. Some grammatical errors persist. For example, “interaction … boosts the communication and economy” has an awkward article and number pattern, while “less chances” should use a plural-compatible quantifier. In “It will encourage people to communicate with foriegn people,” the repeated noun phrase also makes the sentence structure less controlled. The sentence beginning “Explaining the next reason according to my opinion” is an awkward construction. Practise accurate noun phrases, agreement, and clause formation, then proofread each sentence for grammatical patterns and punctuation.
