Student answer (Band 7.0)
This essay will discuss how the technology, trade, music and modern ways of commute has helped people connect with each other through around the globe regardless of their races, ethnicities, and cultures. And while many people believe that globalisation is a good thing some people might argue that globalisation has erased the differences between cultures.
Globalistaion has connected the people from all over the world. Now when there is a crime or injustice going on in one country, the whole world comes together and raise their voice against it. Internet has given people voice and a right to speak up even if they are not famous. You can raise your voice, you can speak against injustice and you can even do a whole protest on social media. For example, the on going genocide in Palestine has raised tension in the whole world, and the whole world is raising their voice against the injustice going on in Palestine.
Moreover, trade, air travel , and pop-culture has a brilliant way to erase the differences between the cultures, ethnicities and races. You can experience different cultures, make friends from all over the world, and explore a lot. Getting to know different type of people, immerse in their culture, and sharing the same music taste gives a person a sense of belonging. Music has a distinguish way of bringing people together, when you rhyme to the same music standing in a concert, you feel connected. For example, K-pop has connected the people from all over the world.
Globalisation has made people humble, aware and connected. Even when some people might believe that it can ruin culture by mixing different things, i beleive it has way too many advantages

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The essay addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position on globalisation. The ideas are relevant, such as the role of the internet in social activism and the cultural exchange facilitated by pop culture. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the point about social media activism is well-supported with the Palestine example, the discussion on cultural exchange is a bit repetitive and lacks depth. The conclusion is very brief and does not fully synthesise the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more balanced exploration of the topic and that the conclusion effectively restates the position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of globalisation. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover' and 'For example', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. Referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the flow could be improved by using more varied linking phrases. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the final paragraph is quite short, which slightly disrupts the overall balance of the essay structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task and allows for clear communication. You use some topic-specific terms like 'globalisation', 'genocide', and 'injustice'. However, there is a reliance on simpler vocabulary, and some word choices are slightly imprecise, such as 'rhyme to the same music' (should be 'sing along' or 'vibe to') and 'distinguish way' (should be 'distinctive way'). There are also minor errors in collocation. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and idiomatic expressions to demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'the technology, trade, music and modern ways of commute has' (subject-verb agreement error: 'have'), 'Internet has given' (missing article: 'The internet'), and 'i beleive' (capitalisation and spelling). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some missing commas in lists. The majority of sentences are understandable, but the frequency of these minor errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band for accuracy.
