Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent time globalization have been increasing by huge amount through various mediums such as internet, air travel and popularity and it is taken positively worldwide. I firmly agree with this statement as globalization helps to unite peoples from all over the world.
In recent years it is noticed that peoples are interested in learning various cultures all over the world and it is making positive impact in global citizens. There is one person named Jack who have been residing in Nepal from past 10 years, and he learnt most of the languages and cultures of Nepal as he is popular all over the world his followers are visiting Nepal which is contributing Nepal financially. Such activities help unpopular countries to be recognized all over the world.
In present times due to availability of internet, it has become convenient to explore the world and fulfilling the curiosity. Last year, I made a new Spanish friend through social media and few months ago I visited Spain and I was way more convenient for me as he guided me throughout the journey, if he was not there, I don't think that the journey had been same as my sense of Spanish was zero. Due to globalization people are learning the languages, lifestyle and cultures of the countries in which they are interested which is helping them to be recognized as global citizens.
In conclusion, some critics may discuss that globalization is exposing some unique cultures and lifestyle, I ultimately believe that interaction between the peoples help to unify the population all over the world and helps in global peace.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of globalisation and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The example of 'Jack' in Nepal is anecdotal and lacks the depth required for an academic response, as it focuses on a specific individual rather than broader societal or economic trends. While the position is clear throughout, the arguments could be more effectively supported with more general, analytical evidence rather than personal narratives. To reach a higher band, ensure that examples serve to illustrate broader points about global interaction rather than focusing on personal anecdotes.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a central focus. There is a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For instance, the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences sometimes feels disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would enhance the overall coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the sophistication and precision expected at higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'globalisation', 'world', and 'countries'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary, the range is somewhat limited. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'popularity' used as a noun to describe a medium of globalisation, which is imprecise. To improve, the student should focus on using a wider range of synonyms and more precise collocations to express complex ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally affect the flow. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'globalisation have been increasing'), article usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'it was way more convenient for me'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To achieve a higher score, the student needs to demonstrate better control over complex structures and pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules, particularly verb tense consistency and pluralisation.
