Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The essay addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of globalisation and stating an opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding economic growth and infrastructure are repetitive and lack specific, well-explained examples. The mention of India is vague and does not clearly illustrate how globalisation specifically functions in that context. The conclusion merely repeats the introduction rather than synthesising the main points. To improve, you should focus on providing deeper analysis and more concrete evidence for your claims, ensuring that each paragraph contributes a distinct, well-supported point to the overall argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' are used, they are often applied mechanically. Some sentences lack clear connections, such as the transition between the discussion of profit and the example of India. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where 'these are facilities' refers back to a list that was not fully integrated into the argument. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There is significant repetition of basic terms like 'globalisation', 'nations', and 'facilities'. Some word choices are awkward or incorrect, such as 'globalisation has rapidly spikes' (should be 'has spiked') and 'make the nations financially uplift' (should be 'uplift the nations financially'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more sophisticated collocations and a wider range of synonyms to avoid repetitive phrasing and to express your ideas with greater nuance and academic tone.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Most of the nations has been doing'), incorrect verb forms ('globalisation has rapidly spikes'), and awkward phrasing ('it is benefit for both'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure often feels repetitive. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and tense consistency. Additionally, try to vary your sentence structure by using more complex clauses correctly, which will help demonstrate better control over English grammar.
