Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, more and more people use the internet, due to the global cultural exchange the globalization has spiked and it is argued by some sectors of society that globalization is a positive development, while others argue that this development is not positive, in fact it is a negative development. Both views and aspects have their own importance, but ultimately, I acknowledge that globalization is a favorable progress and is far more substantial.
As a matter of fact, due to the recent progress in computing and communication the world has become a global village and everything is only one click away from us. The biggest advantage of globalization is the economic growth. For instance, if I am from Pakistan and manufacture an item, due to globalization, I am able to sell my items and goods internationally on different platforms, such as, Amazon, Etsy, Alibaba and so on. In this way, that growth is directly beneficial to my business, to my capital and so on. In this way, different countries establishes the long term relations.
The globalization due to air travel, trade and pop culture has significant benefits, Consequently, the air travel raise the tourism in country, while the pop culture is far more significant. For instance, the United States is famous for pop culture around the globe, it attracts the global talent all over the world, due to this attraction it gives upper hand to the US over the world, as a result of pop culture the US is renounced for its innovation, invention, and creativity. Ultimately, the US is known as the Land of Opportunities.
In conclusion, despite the valid concerns raised by opponents regarding disadvantages of globalization. I remained convinced that overarching benefits of globalization are more substantial.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position throughout. The introduction acknowledges both sides before stating a preference for globalization. The body paragraphs provide relevant examples, such as the use of e-commerce platforms like Amazon and the cultural influence of the United States. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of how pop culture gives the US an 'upper hand' is a bit superficial. To reach a higher band, the arguments could be more thoroughly extended with deeper analysis of the societal or economic implications beyond the surface-level examples provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'For instance', 'Consequently', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive (e.g., the frequent use of 'In this way'). Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the connection between sentences could be smoother to avoid a slightly disjointed feel in the second and third paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'global cultural exchange', 'economic growth', and 'innovation'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'globalization has spiked' (which is slightly unnatural) and 'renounced' (likely meant 'renowned'). The range is sufficient to discuss the topic, but it lacks the precision and sophistication required for a higher band score. More varied and precise academic vocabulary would enhance the quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('different countries establishes', 'air travel raise') and punctuation errors (comma splices in the introduction and body paragraphs). These errors do not impede communication, but they are noticeable. To improve, the writer should focus on subject-verb agreement and refining the use of complex sentences to ensure they are error-free. The control over punctuation, particularly the use of commas and full stops, needs more attention.
