Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, some people believe that internationalization has sharply raised through internet, trade, culture is a good thing to increase the interaction between nations. This essay will discuss this view before giving my own opinion.

On the one hand, some people believe that interaction between nations is beneficial for the trade. This is because better economy for both nations . For example, if the student go other country for the eduction, then it is crucial for the both countries like, student pay the tuition fee there, and after complete the eduction, when they came back to own country, they will do work for their own country. Therefore, they will improve the economy of their country. Technology will also grow if the two country have good relation with each other.

In my opinion, I believe that job opportunity will also improve, because we can see that unemployment expand day by day in every country. Furthermore, communication will be enhanced between two nation through the globalisation. For instance, when the relation will be good in countries, then communicate with each other in different field, like economy, funding, trade, technology. Moreover, they can easily access the information in different sector. They can get information from other nation through the internet, and also good for the air travel, because people move from one country to other through the air.

In conclusion, this view has their own advantages. However, I believe that increased dealings between nations through the globalism is a fantastic thing, because it is more beneficial in the long term.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of globalisation and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. For example, the argument regarding students studying abroad is somewhat repetitive and lacks a clear link to the broader concept of globalisation. The explanation of how globalisation improves job opportunities is also quite general and lacks specific, well-developed examples. While the position is clear, the supporting points are under-developed, and the essay would benefit from more depth and specific evidence to reach a higher band. The response covers all parts of the task, but the depth of analysis is insufficient for a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'For example' and 'Moreover'. Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the logical progression of ideas is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, such as the transition between the discussion of student education and the broader economic impact. While there is an overall coherent arrangement, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the occasional confusion in referencing make the flow feel somewhat disjointed at times.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'internationalization has sharply raised' instead of 'increased' or 'expanded', and 'dealings' which is not the most precise term for international relations. The student relies on basic vocabulary and struggles with collocations, such as 'better economy for both nations'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of errors in word choice limit the score. More sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic of globalisation would improve the quality.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include missing articles ('the internet', 'the education'), subject-verb agreement errors ('student go other country'), and awkward sentence construction ('when the relation will be good in countries, then communicate with each other'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around periods. While the student attempts complex structures, these are often faulty. The frequency of these errors suggests that the writer has not yet mastered the control needed for a higher band score.
