Student answer (Band 5.5)
During recent years, the trends show the inclement and spread of various different cultures from all around the world via internet. Also, due to other sectors like air travel and trade it has rapidly increased globalisation. In this essay I will elaborate why I think that it is a good thing.
In ancient history every culture had their own way of uniquness as well as rituals that were not exactly understandable by different cultures. There were so many products that were available in such a specific environment and conditions that it was nearly impossible for any other place to achieve it. For example: Indian culture had so much cotton, wheat, spices etc. Due to the invention and use of internet all of this was able to be spread and make a network all around the world so that everyone can share each others special quality products, crops, culture etc.
There are so many great examples of product trades and popular culture like: Amazon, High-end technologies, branded goods and products etc. and even cultural examples like: Hip-Hop, Rap music, Bharatnatyam and many more.
From my perspective I would say that internet has helped in spreading alot of different hidden culture that were underrated and helped them grow, given a spotlight to show around the world.
Internet has helped us grow each other whether it be economically via trading or socially by sharing each others' culture. If it were not introduced at all currently, we would be hundreds maybe thousands of years behind as we couldn't travel to different countries, region, no trading all over the world, nor any sharing of popular culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of globalisation and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention trade and cultural exchange, the arguments lack depth and specific analysis. For instance, the transition from historical context to modern examples like Amazon or Hip-Hop is abrupt and lacks a clear logical link to the broader impact of globalisation. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported idea that directly answers the 'why' behind your opinion, rather than listing examples. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesise the points made.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. For example, the frequent use of 'For example' and 'Also' at the start of sentences creates a somewhat disjointed flow. Some transitions between ideas are missing, making the progression feel slightly jumpy. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the phrase 'helped us grow each other' is awkward and lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'inclement and spread' (which is incorrect usage) and 'uniquness' (spelling error). Phrases like 'hidden culture that were underrated' are understandable but not naturally phrased. You rely on basic vocabulary to describe complex concepts. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary, such as 'cultural homogenisation' or 'economic integration', and ensure that you check the spelling of key terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('internet has helped', 'culture that were'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('if it were not introduced at all currently'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of colons and lists. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to distract the reader. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and verb tense consistency.
