Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position on globalisation. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of networking and cultural exchange, as well as the drawbacks regarding social comparison. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about 'mental disturbance' is introduced but not fully explored or linked back to the broader context of globalisation effectively. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced analysis and deeper explanations for your arguments, ensuring that each point is fully supported with specific, logical reasoning rather than just stating the idea.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organised into paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On one hand', 'In addition', and 'For instance', which help guide the reader through the argument. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are minor issues with referencing and flow; for example, the transition between the discussion of cultural exchange and the negative impacts of globalisation could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved to ensure a more seamless progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'advancements', 'globalisation', 'mentorships', and 'confined'. There are some instances of slightly unnatural word choices or minor errors, such as 'Majorly' (which is not standard in this context) and 'contact a foreign supervisors' (plurality error). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the control is not always precise. To improve, focus on using collocations more accurately and avoiding informal or non-standard adverbial usage. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, but lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include 'globalisation is advantageous for the societies' (article error), 'trade and business' (verb/noun confusion), 'Knowledge will not remained' (tense error), and 'contact a foreign supervisors' (agreement error). These errors are noticeable but do not impede communication. To achieve a higher score, you need to increase the frequency of error-free sentences and demonstrate better control over verb tenses and subject-verb agreement.
