Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, the world wide web, easy air travel, famous cultures and trading has helped in the rapid rise of globalisation. Indeed, this has assisted in more communication with other nations which is eventually beneficial for our nation. Thus, globalisation is a great asset of any country.
Social media, cultural events etc, has enabled people to expand their horizons and mindsets and look into other cultures too. Furthermore, this helps in development and better adaptation to an environment and brings forward greater opportunities. For instance, if someone plans to settle or study somewhere abroad, globalisation helped that person in understanding the situation and makes it easier for them to leave and settle in another nation. It is due to globalisation, that a lot of Indian students can fulfil their dreams to study in Ivy League institutions.
The most positive impact of globalisation can be seen in the relationships between nations. In times, when one nation is in a vulnerable state, the other comes forward and helps the former. However, this trust could only be established when a great exchange of trade, ideas and mindsets have been carried out between the two countries. During the covid period, every other country could interact or share beneficial resources or treatments to heal each other. This was only possible due to the enhanced and appropriate usage of globalisation.
In conclusion, I would like to state that the current resources along with increased communication within nations has been a fruitful consequence of globalisation and will continue to benefit the economies.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of globalisation and providing a clear position. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention cultural exchange and international aid, the ideas could be extended with more depth or specific analysis. For instance, the point about Indian students is relevant but could be connected more explicitly to the broader theme of global integration. The conclusion is a bit brief and does not fully synthesise the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph provides a more thorough exploration of the topic, perhaps by acknowledging counter-arguments or providing more detailed examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is abrupt. Additionally, the use of referencing could be improved to avoid repetition. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, but the management of cohesive devices lacks the flexibility required for a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'vulnerable state', 'globalisation', and 'institutions'. However, the range is somewhat limited and occasionally repetitive. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'famous cultures' (which is vague) and 'great asset of any country' (which is slightly unnatural in this context). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and less common lexical items to express your ideas with greater nuance and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist. For example, subject-verb agreement issues occur, such as 'Social media, cultural events etc, has enabled' (should be 'have enabled') and 'trading has helped' (should be 'trade has helped'). Additionally, there are some punctuation errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'In times, when one nation is in a vulnerable state'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do prevent the writing from reaching a higher level of accuracy.
