Student answer (Band 5.5)
In past years, through the digital technology like the internet, air commute, trade, known culture, globalization has rapidly soared. Few individuals feel that the surged interaction between nations through globalization is a positive thing. I strongly agree with this statement owing to the fact that it helps to maintain unity and economic benefits among different country and prevents conflicting situation like wars.
Through globalization, every country can transport it goods and resources so it could get some profits as well as the resources can be equally distributed. After the trade and globalization, the connection
between people from several countries enhance, which help to maintain eco-friendly environment and unity among each country. Popular culture can also overhaul the participation of public which builds social connection and foreign relation among people

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of globalisation and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the claim that globalisation helps maintain an 'eco-friendly environment' is asserted but not explained or supported with logical reasoning. The example regarding India and Nepal is relevant, but the explanation of how it specifically relates to the broader concept of globalisation remains brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed analysis and ensure that every claim is clearly linked to the central argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a clear overall progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Additionally' and 'Furthermore', to link sentences. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. In some places, the logical flow between sentences is hindered by awkward phrasing, such as the transition between the discussion of tourism and the mention of the global economy. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'globalisation', 'commodities', and 'economic growth'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'air commute' (instead of 'air travel'), 'known culture' (instead of 'popular culture'), and 'overhaul the participation' (which does not fit the context). These errors occasionally make the meaning less clear. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary rather than attempting to use complex-sounding words that may not fit the context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('every country can transport it goods', 'India had open boundaries'), missing articles, and incorrect preposition usage. These errors are noticeable but do not generally impede communication. To achieve a higher score, you need to pay closer attention to basic grammar rules, particularly pluralisation and article usage, and aim for greater accuracy when constructing more complex sentences.
