Student answer (Band 5.5)
The modern technology has made the whole world a global village. Globalisation means rapid transportation and fast communication. We are getting plenty of benefits from this phenomenon. We can easily trade, communicate with our lover ones. It has bring us from the darkness to brightness of knowledge. Some people think that increased between nations through globalisation is a good development. I agree with this view and will explain my thesis in the following passage.
In recent years, with the help of internet, trade and air travel, globalisation is becoming popular. It has several advantages for modern man. Now we can communicate and share our moments with our favourite person within no time. People are trading their goods throughout the world. A person can travel the any part of the world within 24 hours. With the help of globalisation, all the cultures are becoming uni culture. For example, in the past people were very patriotic that they were against their enemie's culture. Now they are trying to copy and explore each other's culture. Moreover, with the help of internet there is shear volume of knowledge and information available at many websites. People are now aware of anything happens in any corner of the world. For instance, sometimes ago there was attack on a mosque in Newsland. Many Muslims were killed in this attack. Muslims were found very grieved on this attack. That news was spread in the world like a light in the darkness.
In conclusion, I hold the view that globalisation is a good thing for all the community. We can get many benefits from this phenomenon.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of globalisation and stating a clear position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention trade, communication, and cultural exchange, the arguments lack depth and specific analysis. For instance, the example regarding the attack in New Zealand is somewhat tangential and does not strongly support the argument that globalisation is a 'good thing'. To improve, you should focus on providing more detailed explanations of how these interactions specifically benefit society, rather than just listing them. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarise the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'with the help of' are used multiple times, which limits the flow of the text. Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt, such as the shift from discussing cultural exchange to the news example. To achieve a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and phrases (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to create a more natural progression of ideas between sentences and paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'uni culture' and 'shear volume of knowledge'. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'lover ones' instead of 'loved ones' and 'sometimes ago' instead of 'some time ago'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and occasional errors in collocation prevent a higher score. Focusing on learning topic-specific collocations related to globalisation would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'It has bring us' (should be 'brought'), 'the any part' (should be 'any part'), and 'enemie's culture' (should be 'enemies' cultures'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. To improve, focus on mastering basic verb tenses and pluralisation rules, and then work on integrating more complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
