Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response addresses the topic of globalisation, but the development of ideas is weak and often tangential. While you mention that globalisation is a 'good thing' in politics and business, the supporting arguments are underdeveloped. The personal anecdote about your brother in Sydney is largely irrelevant to the broader discussion of globalisation and fails to support the prompt effectively. The position is stated but lacks the depth required for a higher band. To improve, focus on providing clear, logical arguments related to the prompt, such as economic growth or cultural exchange, rather than unrelated personal stories.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by unclear transitions and disjointed sentences. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the abrupt shift between the introduction and the body paragraphs. The referencing is often confusing, particularly in the anecdote about your brother, where the use of pronouns like 'they' and 'it' makes it difficult to follow the narrative. To improve, use linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' to connect your ideas more smoothly and ensure each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'good things', 'things', and 'way'. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'intreact', 'uniqe', 'conviniat', and 'dissiuon', which occasionally impede the reader's understanding. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the complexities of globalisation. You should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to international relations, economics, and technology, and focus on accurate spelling and word formation to convey your ideas more professionally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammar is characterized by frequent errors in sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and tense usage. Examples include 'In today era things is changing', 'They were no waste your time', and 'my brother live in abroad'. These errors are persistent and often make the meaning unclear. The essay relies almost entirely on simple sentence structures, with very few attempts at complex sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions. Developing a better grasp of complex sentence structures will also be essential for a higher score.
