Student answer (Band 6.0)
Globalisation has seen a massive boon with technological advancements at the forefront. Consequently, increased interaction between nations have become a hot topic. While some people argue that this is a positive development for us, others dseem opposed to the idea. Although the points of the opposition party is understandable, I believe the benfits that stem from two nations actively engaging with each, far outweighs them.
One of the primary reason behind this is increased support from other countries during times of extreme duress. For instance during massive earthquakes or a global pandemic, if relationship between countries are good due to globalisation, resources can be shared to support one another to weather the storms that they might face. Additionally increased interaction can lead to better communication which can subsequently be useful for capturing criminals on the run. For example, there were news of a man in USA who killed his wife and fled to Mexico where he could no longer be tracked due to lack of urgency and delays in communication. If the criminals information were timely relayed and the Mexican authorities maintained a back and forth proper communication channel then it might have been possible to apprehend him.
While improved interaction may lead to some issues like over reliance on other countries, the advantages outnumbers the drawbacks. The main reason behind my particular agreement is that countries with better relationship will always benefit each other in one way or another. For example, there may be increased trade between them, monetary support in harsh times, provide shelter or supplies during war etc. For instance, Bangladesh and china have good trade relationships where Bangladesh exports textile good and in return is able to purchase electricity at a cheaper rate.
In conclusion, globalisation has imrpoved the world for the better and consequently improved interaction has deepened the frienship among countries. So during tough times eveyone will have someone to depend on.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of international cooperation during disasters and trade benefits. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat uneven. The example regarding the criminal in the USA is a bit anecdotal and could have been better linked to the broader concept of globalisation. While the position is clear, the arguments could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively summarises the main stance, ensuring the task requirements are met.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices are present, such as 'Consequently', 'Additionally', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the vague use of 'them' in the introduction. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and the structure supports the reader's understanding of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task. You use some good collocations like 'technological advancements' and 'extreme duress'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'benfits', 'imrpoved', 'frienship', and 'eveyone', which detract from the overall quality. Additionally, some word choices are slightly imprecise, such as 'opposition party' (which usually refers to politics) instead of 'opponents' or 'those who disagree'. To improve, focus on proofreading for spelling and using more precise academic terminology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('increased interaction... have become', 'the points... is understandable', 'the advantages outnumbers'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. There are also minor punctuation errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'there were news of a man'. Increasing the accuracy of basic grammatical rules will significantly improve your score.
