Student answer (Band 6.0)
Over the past few decades, globalisation has surged due to the internet, air travel, trade, and popular culture. Many consider that increase in interaction between nations because of globalisation is a good thing. I believe, even though globalisation brings significant economic growth and cultural exchange, it also has some drawbacks.
The concept of globalisation is sound when it boosts economy of a country and brings harmony. For example, if a multinational company decides to plant a new manufacturing unit in another country, it creates new job opportunities and helps local workers earn some good amount money. Similarly, cultural exchange between countries through arts, music, and ideas over the internet has indirectly united many people across the world, for example South Korean group like BTS collaborating with western bands.
On the other hand, when a global company opens a new manufacturing unit in a country which has cheap labour. The company exploits the labour laws. For example, a big manufacturing industry can recruit a mass of cheap labour and can exploit them by making them work for longer hours and paying low wages. Similarly, this thing increases the inequality and the gap between rich and poor keeps on increasing. Moreover, production hours of these companies are not confined till harming Humana but also a great amount pollution to natural resources are disrupted. For example, construction of a manufacturing plant can disturb the natural habit and after construction it starts polluting the environment.
To conclude, globalisation can unite many people across countries over the internet and introduces new opportunities for other countries by creating jobs, but at the same time taking advantage of cheap labour laws and disturbing the environment shall not be overlooked.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing the benefits and drawbacks of globalisation and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and supported by examples, such as the mention of multinational companies and cultural exchange. However, the development of some points is slightly limited; for instance, the argument regarding environmental damage is somewhat vague and could have been more precisely articulated. The position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively synthesises the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with more depth and specific detail.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organised into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'For example', 'Similarly', 'On the other hand', and 'Moreover' are used to guide the reader through the arguments. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing in the third paragraph (e.g., 'this thing increases') is a bit imprecise. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the benefits from the drawbacks, which helps the overall flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'multinational', 'manufacturing unit', and 'inequality'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'good amount money', 'not confined till harming Humana', and 'disturb the natural habit'. These errors do not impede communication but indicate a need for more precise control over collocations and word forms. Expanding the range of academic vocabulary would help elevate the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles (e.g., 'boosts economy of a country'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence fragments (e.g., 'when a global company opens a new manufacturing unit in a country which has cheap labour'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are poorly constructed, which occasionally affects the fluency of the text. To improve, focus on correcting basic grammatical slips and ensuring that complex sentences are structured accurately.
