Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is an ongoing debate that in the current years, the internet, air travelling, trading and famous cultures globalization have been multiplied; meanwhile, this has multiplied the interactions among nations is a positive approach. It is my firm conviction that the increase in globalization through various factors have positive impacts; however, this trend has some negative points as well.
Different transportation and communication means have closely bring together the distances among the international communities through different ways including communication and information by internet, travelling through air, international trading, and the popularity of cultures due to their uniqueness. These modes have make it possible to understand mutual similarities, common problems and acceptance of differences. I think that the foundation and activities of international organizations including United Nations, UNICEF, Red Cross, etc. have been possible through these modes, international business expansion and research or education sharing have helped nations in different ways, and the social media increased the daily interaction among individuals turning earth into a global village bringing all communities together at one platform. For example, my uncle works in a US company living in Pakistan.
On the other hand, there are some negative aspects including the spread of hatred and frauds have become easy through these means. For example, two million rupees from my cousin account through an international scam. Maximum popularity of cultures is diminishing the individuality and uniqueness of cultures specifically among youngsters as they are meant to follow the popular cultures forgetting their individual identity. For example, western cultures are blindly following in the underdeveloped countries like Pakistan.
In conclusion, the globalization and interaction of world nations have many positive points; however, the negative impacts cannot be ignored.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing both a discussion of the benefits of globalisation and a personal opinion. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the positive aspects are supported by examples like international organizations, the negative aspects are supported by anecdotal evidence (e.g., the uncle in Pakistan, the cousin's bank scam). To reach a higher band, the student should focus on more generalized, academic arguments rather than purely personal anecdotes, and ensure that the discussion of the 'negative points' is as well-developed as the positive ones.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion', but the flow is occasionally mechanical. Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the opening sentence where the grammatical structure makes the relationship between the internet and globalization difficult to follow. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there is a lack of precision and some awkward collocations. Phrases like 'famous cultures globalization have been multiplied' and 'closely bring together the distances' are unnatural. The student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary (e.g., 'global village', 'international business expansion'), but errors in word choice, such as 'maximum popularity' instead of 'the widespread adoption', occasionally impede the clarity of the argument. A more sophisticated range of vocabulary is needed to move beyond a 6.0 band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the writing. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'these modes have make it possible'), incorrect verb tenses, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'two million rupees from my cousin account'). While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding the message, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, the student should focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing prepositions and incorrect verb forms.
