Student answer (Band 5.5)
Recently, there has been significant advancement in the field of technology. Due to the facility of internet, air travel has become convenient, increase in interaction among people from different parts of world which has led to spreading and globalization of trade and culture. It is often argued by the people that it is beneficial for the economy of the world. Similarly, in my opinion this has positive effects on the economy of each country.
Proponents of this increased interaction argue that globalisation can positively affect the economy of each nation. This is because through globalisation people get to know each other better which may benefit in increase of trade and may improve the ties of the contributing countries, ultimately becomes crucial for the economy. For instance, people in Sialkot export number of goods at affordable prices to consumers in USA and other parts of world because of the platform like social media possible only due to internet, which benefits the people of Pakistan as well as the foreigners. Furthermore, due to globalization, people get to know the culture of other nations, like clothing styles etc.
Likewise, I believe, globalization has significant positive effects on the economy along with improving the ties among nations.
In conclusion, globalisation does not only have benefits at economic level but also can help improve political connections of nations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of globalisation and providing a personal opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of the discussion. While the main idea is clear, the supporting arguments are underdeveloped. For instance, the example regarding Sialkot is a good start, but it lacks sufficient elaboration to fully explore the economic impact. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed analysis and ensure you meet the minimum word count to allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body, and conclusion. The progression of ideas is generally clear, though the transition between the introduction and the body paragraph could be smoother. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion', but the range is somewhat limited. The connection between sentences is occasionally mechanical. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your referencing is precise throughout the text to improve the flow of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the sophistication required for a higher band. You rely on somewhat repetitive phrasing, such as 'economy of the world' and 'economy of each country'. While your meaning is clear, there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To improve, focus on incorporating more precise academic vocabulary related to globalisation, such as 'interconnectedness', 'economic integration', or 'cross-cultural exchange', rather than relying on basic descriptive terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that affect the fluency of the writing, such as 'Due to the facility of internet' (missing article) and 'increase in interaction... which has led to' (faulty sentence structure). There are also issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall quality. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage to improve your accuracy.
