Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the current times, globalisation has rapidly increased due to internet, air travel and popular culture which most people thinks is a benifical thing as it increases interaction between nations. In my opinion, interaction between nations is really helpful global resource distribution and culture inrichment.

Rapid globalisation helped a lot of countries worldwide in many different way. Firstly, trade had helped countries export and import resources, enabling them to take advantage of global market. For instance, a country can now start trade with other countries and get needfull resources quickly. Secondly, Rapid globalisation had opened gates for culture exchange. People are now able to understand other cultures much better and faster leading to better understanding of peoples.

While Rapid globalisation had showen a greate success it still had some issues. Fast trade and travel had made dieases spread faster then every before. For example, COVID was able to spread throughout the world faster due to air travel, causing a global pandemic. Internet which is a big part of this globalisation is also used against individuals and nations for illegal or harmfull purposes. There is a every growing cases of cyber crime against peoples and whole nation.

In conculsion, while globalisation have insured better trade and connection between peoples of different nations, it still has many underlining issue which we cannot ignore.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits and drawbacks of globalisation and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of development for the arguments presented. While the ideas regarding trade, cultural exchange, and the spread of disease are relevant, they are not fully extended or supported with sufficient detail. The conclusion is also quite brief. To improve, you must expand your supporting points with more specific examples and ensure the essay meets the length requirement to allow for a more comprehensive discussion of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a basic attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion'. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by the brevity of the text. The use of referencing is occasionally mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your ideas more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, well-developed central theme.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'benifical', 'inrichment', 'needfull', 'dieases', 'showen', 'greate', 'harmfull', and 'conculsion'. Additionally, some word choices are repetitive or slightly unnatural, such as 'really helpful global resource distribution'. To improve, you should focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic terms and attempt to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations to express your ideas with greater precision and variety.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('most people thinks', 'globalisation have insured'), incorrect verb tenses ('trade had helped', 'globalisation had showen'), and missing articles or prepositions. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage to improve your accuracy.
