Globalisation has become the major topic of discussion in recent times. While it has dramatically increased through air travel, internet and popular culture, many people contend that it is an approach towards a positive development. This essay will discuss the significant advantages caused by globalisation and present my opinion with reasoned justifications.

On the one hand, one of the most the prominent advantages that globalisation currently has brought is social interaction. This trend has dramatically reduced the barriers of communication and language.

Now the people sitting at the comfort of their homes can easily communicate and share their views effectively by connecting through internet. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that globalisation is a positive development. The ideas are relevant, focusing on social interaction and cultural diversity. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the mention of 'overcoming the sufferings of natural disasters' is a strong point but lacks specific elaboration or a concrete example to fully support the argument. While the position is consistent, the essay would benefit from more depth in the analysis of the 'challenges' mentioned in the conclusion, which are currently only briefly acknowledged. Overall, the response is well-focused and meets the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central topic, such as social interaction or cultural diversity. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Additionally', 'Moreover', and 'Consequently', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. However, there are minor issues with referencing and flow; for example, the phrase 'Even through globalisation' at the end of the first body paragraph feels slightly disconnected from the preceding sentences. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate and allows for clear communication. There is an attempt to use less common items such as 'inclusivity', 'rejuvenate', and 'fraternity'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'approaches towards a positive development' (which is slightly awkward) and 'unite on one page' (an informal idiom). Additionally, there is a spelling error ('strengthen' written as 'strenghthen') and a minor error with 'cate' (likely meant 'caste'). While the range is sufficient, more precise and natural collocations would elevate the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several error-free sentences, such as 'This trend has dramatically reduced the barriers of communication and language.' However, there are recurring grammatical slips, such as 'one of the most the prominent' (double article) and 'enables in understanding' (incorrect preposition usage). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are some inconsistencies with spacing and comma usage. While the errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher band score. A greater variety of complex structures with higher accuracy is needed for a band 7.
