Student answer (Band 5.5)
- The most used example of all time when it comes to Internet's perks and advantages is it being the interlink of the world, how it made the whole world a small town of shared culture, news, acquittances and interactions. the term for it is globalisation.
It has rapidly increased, throughout the years and many people believe that the soaring interactions between nations through globalisation is a good thing. So is it indeed? or is there a dark side for it that's hidden underneath?
Well i personally believe that globalisation has some perks and peaks, humans could never think of interacting with a different human being, a different culture, language, a view for the world. All of these were perceived as dreams and wonders until it became ultimately true.
Humans are social creatures, from groups to tribes to cities and more now. It's definitely a human nature to connect and interact in order to thrive that's why i think that globalisation made this goal specifically easier without journeys of days and months and what it takes to do so. It's now available for almost everyone on the globe to interact and be a part of something meaningful, learn a bunch of new things and widen our view on the world since it is really influenced by culture and way of living so by globalisation we're not only interacting but also learning and opening new ways to meditate and question the world.
Moreover, the interaction between nations through trading, traveling and globalisation in general contributed in the omition of extremists and close-minded individual. to sum it up, humans tend to judge and dislike the differences especially the norma that may seem slightly uncomfortable or totally out of comfort zone. through globalization the understanding of differences and the peaceful approaches to building one human nation is becoming realer than ever. The more we understand and accept about eachother, the more we apt to tolerate eachother. no differences, no racism, no secism...ect
Although, I'd counter at some parts of it globalisation made the world's problems even bugger and how saturated everyone is today with news, informations and the desensitizing we're witnessing nowadays. could we really say with confidence it has no dark side?

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both views on globalisation and providing a clear personal opinion. The writer establishes an upfront stance in the introduction and supports it throughout the body paragraphs with reasons and examples related to human nature, cultural exchange, and trade. For instance, the discussion on how globalisation helps reduce extremism and close-mindedness shows good extension of ideas. However, the tone is overly conversational and rhetorical questions are used excessively, which slightly detracts from formal academic essay style. Furthermore, the conclusion is somewhat abrupt and incomplete in its development of the counter-argument. Overall, the ideas are relevant and well-developed, aligning with a Band 6.5 to 7.0 profile, earning a solid Band 6.5 for addressing the prompt adequately while maintaining a clear position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from the definition of globalisation, through the benefits of human connection and trade, to a brief acknowledgement of the downsides. Paragraphing is used, though some paragraphs are overly dense and function as massive blocks of text, such as the fourth paragraph. Cohesive devices are employed, but they are sometimes informal or awkwardly placed, as seen with phrases like "to sum it up" and "Although, I'd counter at some parts of it". Referencing is generally clear, but mechanical transitions occasionally disrupt the flow. While the logical journey is perceptible to the reader, the paragraphing and cohesive control lack the flexibility required for a higher band, placing this firmly at Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as "globalisation", "acquittances", "extremists", "desensitizing", and "interlink". However, there are noticeable word choice errors and awkward collocations throughout the text, such as "omition of extremists" (omission/reduction), "norma" (norms), "secism...ect" (sexism... etc.), and "bugger" (bigger). Spelling slips also occur, such as "informations" and "interlinks". Despite these inaccuracies, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the writer's meaning without impeding communication. The flexibility and precision of a Band 7 are not consistently met due to these recurring lexical flaws, making Band 6.0 the most appropriate descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures. However, the text contains a high frequency of grammatical errors and punctuation issues, particularly run-on sentences and comma splices, such as "So is it indeed? or is there a dark side for it that's hidden underneath?" and lowercase letters at the beginning of sentences ("the term for it", "Well i personally"). Subject-verb agreement and prepositional use also show frequent lapses, for instance, "contributed in the omition" instead of "contributed to the omission". Because complex structures frequently contain errors and punctuation control is weak, the grammar performance aligns best with Band 5.5, as errors cause some distraction and require the reader to occasionally re-read.
