Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing the view that globalisation is positive and providing a clear personal opinion. The writer establishes a clear position from the introduction ("I firmly believe globalisation is a good move...") and maintains it throughout. Ideas are presented, such as economic benefits, developing nations' GDP growth, and cultural considerations. However, the development of ideas tends to be repetitive, especially regarding low GDP nations like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the third paragraph, which restricts the response to a Band 6. The arguments are relevant and supported with general examples, but lack the deeper extension and sophisticated nuance required for higher band levels.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, two body paragraphs representing supporting arguments, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is often faulty or mechanical. The use of transitional phrases such as 'To commence with the first agreement point,' and 'Further more on this point,' feels unnatural and awkward. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, for instance, in sentences like 'On the other hand, this will be help to the developing countries,' where pronoun reference lacks precision. While the logical progression is generally maintained, the frequent awkward mechanical links keep the response firmly at a Band 6 level.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'contemporary era,' 'foreign investments,' and 'infrastructure.' However, there are numerous noticeable lexical and spelling errors that detract from the overall quality, such as 'comfertable' instead of 'comfortable,' 'sevices' instead of 'services,' 'immensive' instead of 'immense,' and 'authanticity' instead of 'authenticity.' Collocations are also occasionally strained, as seen in phrases like 'globalisation highlight the immensive economic benefits' and 'intaracting with developed countries.' These recurring inaccuracies demonstrate the characteristics of Band 5, where a limited range and noticeable errors occasionally impede smooth reading.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including verb form and agreement issues such as 'globalisation plays a pivotal role to increases' and 'when trade barriers declined. It has increased access...' (fragment/punctuation error). Other errors include 'globalization helps to those nation' and 'though globalization have chance to badly affect on cultural authanticity.' While meaning is generally conveyed despite these errors, the high frequency of inaccurate complex structures prevents the writing from achieving a Band 6 score.
