Student answer (Band 5.5)
in contemporary years, globalisation has shown a surge around the world through the internet, air travel, trade and popular culture. many people believe that the increased interaction between nations through globalisation is a good thing. in my opinion, i largely agree that there should be globalisation around the world as it is essential for our country to be in good relation with other countries.
it is very important for our country to be in good terms with other nation, because by this we can make our presence more valuable in different nations. we can sell our goods, travel around the world easily and share our culture, languages if maintain a healthy boundaries with the countries. in addition, we can also apply for eductation in abroad and for that, it is necessary to be in good relation with that specific country. for instance, italy provide student friendly scholarships for the students around the world, morever pakistan has passed its agreement with italy that allows pakistani students to go to italy for higher education, so this is definitely a benefit for us.
on the other hand, many people also highlight that the interaction should be limited. i believe that we can make good relation by maintaing boundaries. too much interaction can also create a dispute between the nation which can affect the globalisation. furthermore, increased interaction between nations can sometimes lead to the leakage of important or sensitive information, which is not a good thing for our country. for example, we should be careful about trusting people from other country, because that trust can sometimes lead to us being deceived or taken advantage of, which can be dangerous for us.
to conclude, i largely admit that having good interaction with other nations can be beneficial for us in terms of education, travelling, social media but it is also very important to maintain healthy boundaries between eachother.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the views on globalisation and providing a clear personal opinion. The student adopts a stance in the introduction and maintains it throughout the essay, supporting ideas with examples, such as mentioning Italy's student-friendly scholarships and agreements with Pakistan. However, some ideas tend to wander into overly narrow or general claims rather than fully developing the broader socio-economic implications of globalisation. The arguments are presented clearly, but they remain somewhat limited in scope and depth. Consequently, the performance aligns well with Band 6.0, as all parts of the task are addressed and a position is presented, but some ideas could be extended further and articulated with greater sophistication.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear progression from introduction to body paragraphs and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct arguments, such as the benefits of globalisation versus the need for boundaries. Cohesive devices like 'in addition', 'for instance', 'on the other hand', and 'to conclude' are employed to structure the response, although referencing and linking can occasionally feel slightly mechanical or repetitive ('for us', 'our country'). Furthermore, the complete lack of capitalisation at the beginning of sentences and for proper nouns negatively impacts the visual and structural cohesion of the text. Overall, the organisational framework supports communication, placing it solidly within the Band 6.0 descriptor range.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms related to the prompt such as 'globalisation', 'interaction', 'scholarships', and 'sensitive information'. There are also attempts to use less common vocabulary, though this is sometimes marred by word choice and collocation inaccuracies, such as 'passed its agreement' instead of 'signed an agreement', or 'maintaing boundaries' (spelling error). Furthermore, systemic punctuation and capitalisation errors occur throughout the text (e.g., lower-case 'i', 'italy', 'pakistan'). Despite these lexical and mechanical slips, the vocabulary used is sufficient to convey the intended meaning without impeding communication, meriting a Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilising conjunctions and subordinate clauses effectively in places, such as in 'it is very important for our country to be in good terms with other nation, because by this we can make our presence more valuable'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding pluralisation and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'other nation' instead of 'other nations', 'italy provide' instead of 'italy provides', 'between eachother'). Additionally, the complete absence of standard capitalisation across all sentences and proper nouns detracts significantly from grammatical control. While the errors do not entirely impede communication, their frequency prevents the essay from reaching a higher band, placing it at a 5.5.
