Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt regarding the advantages and disadvantages of globalisation while providing an opinion. However, the position is basic and the ideas are severely underdeveloped, lacking robust supporting examples. Furthermore, the text is incomplete and ends abruptly mid-sentence ("rapid growth of globelization hav"). Crucially, the response falls short of the minimum word count requirement, containing only 216 words instead of the required 250. This under-length impacts the overall development of the task, resulting in a score that reflects limited elaboration.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay attempts a standard paragraph structure with transitional phrases like "On the one hand" and "On the other hand". However, the overall progression is weak and disjointed. Paragraphing is noticeably underdeveloped, with the final paragraph cutting off after only a few words. While basic cohesive devices such as "For instance" and "The other major factor" are used, referencing is sometimes confused (e.g., mixing plural and singular ideas) and the flow is frequently interrupted by abrupt transitions and incomplete thoughts.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently reusing terms like "globalization", "internet", "air travel", and "trading". There are noticeable word choice and spelling errors throughout the text, such as "globle" instead of global, "vary crucial" instead of very crucial, and "mojor factor of succus". Less common lexical items are attempted but usually involve collocation or spelling inaccuracies, which restricts the range and occasionally causes strain for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The text displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple and awkwardly constructed complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., "globalization... raises the question" followed by structural slips, "this progress may have... It prove negative"), preposition errors, and punctuation failures. Because the text is incomplete and contains pervasive errors that interfere with readability, it aligns closely with the lower-band descriptors.
