Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing the view that globalisation is beneficial and providing an opinion, though the development is somewhat limited and repetitive. The introduction clearly states a position, noting that "it is really a good thing that world is connect to each other through globalisation." The body paragraphs present relevant ideas regarding trade, communication, travel, and cultural understanding, alongside a brief mention of drawbacks such as cultural dilution. However, many ideas remain under-developed rather than fully extended with relevant examples or specific explanations. While the task is adequately addressed to earn a Band 5.5, the support requires deeper elaboration and more precise focus to reach higher band levels.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays some overall organization with recognizable introduction, body, and concluding sections. However, progression is frequently disrupted by abrupt shifts between ideas and sentences that lack smooth transitions. For instance, the second body paragraph suddenly pivots to recruitment and remote work without a clear cohesive link to the preceding points about travel and music. Paragraphing is attempted, but the third body paragraph is extremely short and functions more like an isolated point than a fully formed paragraph. Furthermore, cohesive devices are somewhat basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on simple connectors like "through internet" and "on the other hand," leading to a mechanical feel in places.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate basic concepts related to technology, trade, and culture. There are attempts to use less common items and academic phrases, such as "globalisation," "cross-culture understanding," and "traditional heritage." However, frequent lexical inaccuracies and awkward word choices persist throughout the text, such as "internet has created ease globaly" (instead of globally), "numbers of work" (instead of a number of tasks), "travel to abroad," and "dominent global culture." Spelling errors like "dominent" and typographical errors like "languages ," also occur. The range is minimally adequate, but noticeable errors restrict the score to a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing hinder readability. Examples of errors include missing articles ("world is connect", "boosting economy"), incorrect prepositions ("travel to abroad"), and subject-verb agreement or tense issues ("Its giver better", "internet made life easier"). Complex structures are often faulty, and punctuation errors are noticeable, such as the incorrect spacing before commas in the final body paragraph. While communication is not entirely impeded, the high frequency of basic grammatical errors means the control aligns with the Band 5 descriptors.
