This is largely because every things is easily spread all over the world such as cultures, foods, laws etc. For, instance, individuals celebrated the festivals various festivals due to globalisation like nepalese people celebrate koreans festivals. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the positive and negative aspects of globalisation and providing a personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes unclear due to weak support and language barriers. For example, the arguments regarding cultures spreading and sedentary lifestyles are stated rather than fully extended. The position is clear throughout, but the reasoning often lacks depth and contains sweeping generalisations, such as claiming globalisation 'create a ememy'. These limitations align closely with the Band 5 descriptors, where ideas are somewhat under-developed and limited in scope.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing a basic structural organisation. However, progression is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical or inaccurate cohesive devices. For instance, the introduction contains a sentence fragment ('While some individuals argue... Although this perspectives...'), which disrupts logical flow. Cohesive markers such as 'To begain with', 'furthermore', and 'In colclusion' are used to signpost sections, but referencing and substitution are often faulty, making relationships between sentences difficult to follow at times. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is weak, placing the response firmly at Band 5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and minimally adequate for the task. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'prevalent', 'contemporary', and 'sedentary lifestyle', but these are accompanied by frequent word-choice and collocation errors, such as 'ememy' instead of 'enmity', 'every things' instead of 'everything', and 'offers variety categories of materials'. Spelling errors like 'begain' and 'colclusion' also occur. While the meaning can generally be discerned, the noticeable inaccuracies and limited flexibility restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, with frequent errors throughout. While the student attempts complex sentences, these are frequently faulty and ungrammatical, such as 'One of the primary argument is that the globalisation make individual life easy easier and convenient.' There are numerous issues with subject-verb agreement ('its facilitate', 'every things is'), missing articles, and awkward verb forms. Punctuation errors are also present, including sentence fragments. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, the response warrants a Band 5 for grammar.
